@GergelyOrosz For sure, but here’s a fun exercise you can do: go look up every Gartner Hype cycle (a widely cited “real thing”) chart for the past 20 years. See if you recognize more than 10-20% of the technologies cited. See if there is literally any correlation year over year.
@GergelyOrosz I would not expect the other way round, this is a classic move I've seen a billion times. You replace who's in charge, step 1 is bring in the homies from my old job that I have high trust in, step 2 is ask my first question about the landscape of the new role.
@ballmatthew Read it again, Roblox engagement in Q3 are 82.5% of Netflix in all of H1, a period 2x as long. Meaning people are putting significantly more hours into Roblox than Netflix, not almost as much.
@GergelyOrosz Mainly luck. Basically every company in the games industry has had layoffs or folded in the last 18 months. One of the biggest breakout games this year, Schedule 1, went viral even tho it has relatively poor quality and little marketing (but is hilarious and fun).
Opened Facebook after a few months
My feed is one or two posts from people I know... and then several either AI generated posts or clearly made-up/fake posts
Closed Facebook, with no intent to open for many more months
Telling how much that site decayed over two decades
@Carnage4Life SBC is the best method I’ve seen for aligning employee motivations with shareholder/business motivations. I notice none of them are looking to reduce the ratio of exec-employee comp.

@CathieDWood Just because you consume a ton of a commodity to operate doesn’t make you backed by it. I don’t have the full support and backing of Frito-Lays corporation. A profoundly silly argument.
In the context of OpenAI demo day, it's striking to see the opportunity Meta missed.
They own the dominant text-chat & image platforms but missed out on owning the next consumer text & image platform, ChatGPT.
Big distraction to focus on metaverse, whatever that is.
@Jason This is like maybe technically true but paves over a lot of positivity about Crypto as a whole. Any projects that aren't a scam are still going to zero.
The sketchy approach @Microsoft has taken to pushing Edge really harkens back to the bad old days when the DOJ was threatening to break it up. Running msedge.exe accidentally is basically a malware infection.
