One of the greatest lessons I have learnt is that there are extremely few trustworthy people, even with the older ones. Delegate your authority and aspect of work to someone and back it with money and see how it unravels character and real intentions of people.
Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, co-founder of Flutterwave, reveals why he didn't marry a Nigerian lady.
He says he chose to marry someone who is not influenced by external parties.
Most Nigerian girls are suseptible to external influence from mother, friends and family. They don't have a mindset of their own.
The most caring and romantic friend I have ever known told us last week that his babe accused him of being nonchalant. I come realize say if dem fit tell am that kind thing na die I dey 😩

A heavy silence fills the world as a great leader is laid to rest.
We are not here to cry in defeat.
We are here to honor a life of unbroken strength, a man who spent every breath standing against the powerful forces that dominate nations.
While others gave in and made deals, he stood like a mountain.
The promises of the West could not buy him, and their threats could not break him.
Where others saw an empire to please, he saw a system of oppression to fight.
He gave his life to the poor, the forgotten, and the wronged.
When darkness fell upon Palestine and the world turned away, he did not.
He refused to look away from the suffering of the Palestinian people, and he completely rejected normalization with Israel.
While others chose silence, compromise, or comfort, he chose to stand firm.
The world closed its eyes.
Even neighbors who spoke Gaza’s language left it to suffer alone.
But he did not move.
When Gaza was cut off in the dark, his hand stayed extended.
He did not just offer empty words; he gave the actual material and political support needed to survive and fight back.
Let those who celebrate today believe that killing a man ends an idea.
They do not understand history.
They do not understand faith.
The blood of those who die for justice never disappears.
It becomes memory. It becomes willpower.
It flows into the generations that come next, not as a loss, but as a continuation.
His death is not the end. It is a turning point that strengthens the resolve of people across Gaza, Lebanon, Iran, and far beyond.
He represented the marginalized, the migrant worker struggling in a foreign city, the poor in neglected neighborhoods, and everyone who feels left behind by global power systems.
His spirit was a continuation to other historic voices of defiance.
They see the same rebellious spirit found in Simón Bolívar or Malcolm X, who both fought against the dominant empires of their times.
He was the true embodiment of Christ’s timeless teachings, especially the duty to defend the poor and stand against injustice, unlike figures like Trump who invoke Christianity in name while acting in ways that contradict its core message of compassion, humility, and justice.
He was also a leader of restraint and service.
He lived simply, choosing ideological commitment over wealth or personal gain.
This creates a sharp contrast with modern politicians who are defined by money, deals, and displays of state power, unlike Trump, who is making money while segments of his own people struggle, and for building personal wealth through political and business networks tied to his public influence.
Ultimately, this shows a deep reality of our world today. Leaders are no longer judged just by their laws or institutions.
They are judged by the meaning they give to their followers, a meaning that lives on long after the man himself is gone.
When Palestine is finally free, and when the region is no longer shaped by foreign powers, many will remember him as the ultimate symbol of resistance.
His name will stand forever as a monument to dignity in the face of overwhelming force.
He left behind a generation that refuses to bow.
His absence is not silence, it is an echo.
The struggle continues, and his name will forever mean steadfastness in a divided world.
He is a symbol beyond one man, crossing borders, classes, and nationalities.
He finished his path exactly as he started it: with deep conviction and defiance.
He kept his promise to those who believed in his teachings, and he never traded his principles for comfort.
He was martyred in his home, in his office, not hiding in a bunker. When offered to move to safety, he reportedly told his security team that if all the Iranian people were taken to safety first, then he would consider going to the bunker himself.
He remained where he always was, close to his duties, close to his people, and true to the path he had chosen.
In that final moment, he left the world as he lived in it: not withdrawn, not in retreat, but standing firm on his ground, carrying his conviction to the very end.
His martyrdom was not an escape from fate, it’s a continuation of his principle, unchanged, unbroken, and complete.
It became a binding proof upon all people, not directed only at Iranians or any single community, but at humanity as a whole.
It calls upon everyone, Americans, Europeans, Arabs, and all nations of the world, to stand against tyranny wherever it exists and in whatever form it takes.
During Ali Khamenei funeral, the Iranian regime recited not-so-subtle verses from the Quran before each foreign delegation, carefully curated to signal how the regime feels about them exactly. Here is a sample:
Hamas: “Among the believers are men who have proven true to what they pledged to God. Some of them have fulfilled their pledge, others are waiting their turn. They have never changed their commitment in the least.”
Hezbollah: “Do not falter or grieve, for you will have the upper hand, if you are true believers. If you have suffered injuries, they suffered similarly. We alternate these days of victory and defeat among people so that God may reveal the true believers, choose martyrs from among you, and God does not like the wrongdoers.”
Palestinian Islamic Jihad: "So that God may forgive you for your past and future shortcomings, perfect His favor upon you, and guide you along the Straight Path, and so that God will help you with a mighty victory."
China: “God ordained this only as good news for you and reassurance for your hearts. And victory comes only from God.”
Iraq’s Hashd al-Shaabi PMUs: "Never say that those martyred in the cause of God are dead; in fact, they are alive! But you do not perceive it."
Saudi Arabia: “There was certainly a sign for you in the two armies that met in battle: one fighting in the cause of God and the other disbelieving. The believers saw their enemy twice their number. But God supports with His victory whoever He wills. Surely in this is a lesson for people of insight.”
Qatar: "So that God may forgive you for your past and future shortcomings, perfect His favor upon you, and guide you along the Straight Path, and so that God will help you with a mighty victory."
Turkey: “God has elevated in rank those who strive with their wealth and their lives above those who stay behind. God has promised each a fine reward, but those who strive will receive a far better reward than the others.”
Pakistan: "And say, 'My Lord! Grant me an honorable entrance and an honorable exit, and give me a supporting authority from Yourself.'"
Egypt: “Their reward with their Lord will be Gardens of Eternity, under which rivers flow, to stay there for ever and ever. God is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. This is only for those in awe of their Lord.”
I learnt the hard way the difference between a colleague, an acquaintance and a friend. When the chips are down, no matter how many people you may count as your friends, the fact of the matter is, you’ll be lucky if more than one remain by your side. Know this, and manage your expectations of others.
This Dangote Cement Shareholder complained about the price of Cement.
He says the distributor 's price of Cement is N11,780 as of today.
He calls on Dangote's daughters, Mariya and Halima to talk to their father.
He also calls on Dangote to reduce the price of Fuel.
There’s no way you’d walk with idiots consistently, and not end up being one. No way.
Even if you were different, one day, they’ll rub off on you. Have you noticed that even start to speak like that your friend that you spend so much time with? Yes, that’s what I mean.
You can never break the Palestinian spirit.
"An Israeli airstrike on Sheikh Radwan in Gaza City killed Mohammed Al-Habil and his son. The attack left behind a child carrying their memory and a promise that the occupation would not break his resolve."
A lesson I learned too late.
When you hit a sizeable block of money (>20 million), your best bet is to save it and keep doing what gave you that block in the first place.
Don't start thinking of what business to invest in especially in Nigeria.
If not, you'll cry.
The all-in cost estimate of 10,000MW delivered to homes till you see your electric bulbs light up is ~$47billion! The whole year gross crude oil revenue of your country is ~$31billion. To cheat with figures you need to know the Math. You cant stand on what you dont understand.
This is plainly false. Roughly 80% of students who sat for the bar finals this year passed, and historical data aren’t far off that mark. Compare this with professional exams where only about 40% of candidates pass.
Some of the smartest people I know are still struggling to clear the CFA, and even those who have passed often did so only after multiple attempts. The CFA has a pass rate below 50%, and you could practically count the number of charter holders in Nigeria on your hands, despite the national obsession with the qualification.
It’s understandable to be so traumatised by our own professional experience that we use it as the default measuring stick, but the data doesn’t bend to our sentiments. We’ve all seen the calibre of minds who’ve entered law school and passed on their first attempt. people whose intelligence, with all due respect, is nothing extraordinary.
This experience Ugo just had is just an example of how our experiences shape us.
For instance, if you’ve been robbed before because you were pressing your phone on the road nonchalantly, there’s a good chance that you’ll be more careful next time right? Experience.
The next lady this guy will be with is probably not gonna get the best version of him, because his subconscious is already programmed not to trust women…then there’s this useless but useful voice reminding you not to trust your new lady.
In this case, this new lady is now suffering from the consequences of what she didn’t do. That’s how monsters are made on the streets.
