Very excited to announce that I have joined the incredible team over at the @washjustice
Looking forward to building something special here in D.C for years to come! #JusticeIsServed
Not suggesting you should speak positively on them either way-
IMO, the focus should be on how do you incentivize publishers to build league structures that create ecosystems where teams are motivated to invest.
vs. current systems that do not promote that
I find it difficult to fault teams for making decisions that are best for their business based on the current league economics that they are a part of
Publisher & team incentives donโt align. Publisher moves make sense only if you see game financial health > esports ecosystem.
If you want to stay sane in esports, need to map decisions from that truth.

Not sure there is a product anymore...
Fandom is driven by creating emotional attachment around players and brand identities- why am I rooting for TL (do they represent my city, what I stand for as an individual, do they have players I personally identify with)
But even before you get to that point you need to identify is there even a case for an esport to exist. Is there a real ROI to have franchised leagues, would Riot be better off investing dollars into paid marketing vs. esports (from a margin perspective) etc. From a team / owner perspective, are we better off putting that cash in the S&P and seeing what happens...
Personally only really think esports works if you align incentives, align teams & publishers in one direction, and create a product that everyone wants to be a part of for the next 10 years (with a defined roadmap that the public can rally behind).
nothing like going to the game.. telling @Keiranthil for most of it you want some drama & then saying โa Hail Mary would be funโ only to have it actually happen ๐คฏ
The @NBA2KLeague brought me to DC, is the reason I met my wonderful partner, and introduced me to folks that I am honored to call lifelong friends
Forever thankful to have been a part of it's journey and would be happy to help any players or staff navigate what comes next.
@IsThisThingJon@KourtsideKing@capsgaming Was never a doubt that you guys were going to be great and loved watching you become a staple for casting here in DC ๐๐

I've struggled this week to even find the words to describe just how sad it is watching esports regress to this level.
This system is not economically sustainable for players or teams and represents a complete surrender in having esports aspire to be a standalone industry.
While @Gomeyy 's designs speak for themselves, Austin is also one of the best in the business at taking feedback from multiple angles and translating it into something incredible
Know he'll find a home quickly, but would encourage anyone in need of a designer to reach out ๐คฉ
After an amazing 3 years together, we bid farewell to @Gomeyy.
Austinโs artistic abilities left an indelible mark on the organization & we're grateful for the incredible designs that brought our team to life each season.
Thank you for the memories & best of luck in the future.
