@TylerBellPhD This doesnโt change the fact that postdoc (and doctoral) salaries are terrible and usually impossible to live on, but if it helps you can get your student loans deferred while doing a postdoc. You can also ask for forbearance if you really canโt pay. I second NIH LRP as well!
So excited to be joining the @RutgersSCJ as an Assistant Professor this fall! And also to be a part of the Racial Democracy, Crime and Justice Network. Such an amazing group! Thank you for a great conference!
Thank you to NIJ Director Dr. Nancy LaVigne for taking time to meet with @rdcjn and Dr. Jody Miller, Ph.D. Alum Dr. Janet Garcia-Hallett @JGarciaHallett and incoming RU SCJ Faculty Dr. Keisha April @KeishaAApril and Dr. Ebony Ruhland @EbRuhland.
@TaylorJLangley@AcademicChatter@PsychChatter Hi! Itโs all kind of a blur tbh ๐ . I think I probably studied (inconsistently) for ~9 weeks at the end of my first year of a research postdoc (I took the exam late August โ21). And then received my license Nov โ21. So about 1.5 years between grad (Jun โ20) and licensure.
This is โthe lookโ developed after a lifetime of being a woman of color having to put-up with absurdities, mansplaining, micro and big aggressions and all sorts of bullshit.
@elana_gloger I also would say check out the clearance racks at Macys. You can sometimes get great designer items for a steal. Costco also sometimes has nice stretchy business casual tops (blouses, cardigans) and slacks. ๐๐พ
Excited to share the news that our article, "Let's Talk about the Police," has just been published in Current Psychology. In this paper, we examine differences in Black and White families' conversations about the police. #TheTalk#LegalSocialization https://t.co/tQPJLvunZi
