Why are signboards on American buses so useless? Japan, France etc. call out where they’re headed when doors open, vocally announce the name of bus stops they’re approaching, show maps of where they are onboard,…
But American buses can’t even show the right line name 🙃
Today the @WhiteHouse announced that all federally funded research will be made openly available. Importantly, it eliminates the 12-month embargo. This is the result of decades of work by @SPARC_NA, @petersuber, @mbeisen, and so many more. #OpenAccess https://t.co/baSNzXPh4Y
@wandaforraleigh What else should Raleigh do, then?
Sounds to me like the most literal way to read what you implied is to amend BRT overlay rules in the UDO so that rezoning/ASRs require meeting affordability thresholds. …but is that even legal? (Or what other approaches are there?)
Breaking: President Biden just announced that the FDA has cleared the way for hearing aids to be sold over the counter without a prescription to adults.
As soon as mid-October, Americans should be able to buy hearing aids online and in retail stores.
Do you think tracking how and when employees work will improve how businesses run? Does it really benefit worker morale or business missions?
I dare you to read (and participate in) this article, and tell me “yes” with a straight face. https://t.co/ywOfJO6xgz
@NateBakerDurham Thanks! Will look into applying if time allows.
Also I just checked, and I think I got confused with requirements for Chapel Hill’s planning commission. Durham’s doesn’t seem to have any such by-laws.
@NateBakerDurham Have they considered loosening its requirements for who can be appointed?
If I remember correctly, I think they ask applicants to have planning degrees or industry experience. Seems like a big gap in equity + missed opportunity if true. (Also I want to help but have neither 😭)
@NateBakerDurham@NinthStreetWatc The way private developers can easily get an audience with city staff for policy changes (even w/ @Habitat_org partnership?) is definitely concerning.
But isn’t that also a red herring? Residents can initiate UDO amendments too. And the process is just as arcane and complex.
@merobiotech Why not just keep it as the Overton window? It’s not a fundamentally different concept in the life sciences, so there’s no functional benefit to a new name
