Final: Lady Dragons fall to Frenship, 1-0, in the Area round in a stunner. The Lady Dragons control the whole match. Frenship has one shot in the 2nd half from their goal keeper and it goes off two Lady Dragon defenders and into the net. @CABCSLC@SCLDS
In his push for private school vouchers, Gov. Greg Abbott has repeatedly emphasized he has no intention of harming Texas public schools.
But this week, Abbott acknowledged that his priority policy would in fact result in public schools losing money. https://t.co/TkbR1Nh7Tc
Democrats are lying to you.
Here are the facts: in 2024, 34% of new hire teachers in public schools were NOT certified.
Those in glass houses should not throw stones.
So when a student exits a public school to use their ESA at a private school, their basic allotment or potential weighted funding will still be provided to their district?
If not, that is absolutely a loss of funding.
Don’t believe the lies—Education Savings Accounts do NOT take a single dollar from public schools.
They are funded entirely through state revenue separate from public education.
Parents matter, and it’s time Texas gives them the right to choose what’s best for their kids.
@bradj_TX What were the amendments? The hold harmless for ISDs is different from previous iterations and there are some disastrous consequences for schools in the process of selling bonds.
The many mandates used to constrain/hinder public education are quickly dismissed from voucher bills because “no school would want to participate otherwise” or simply because common sense tells the legislators those mandates cause so many problems.
Why won’t legislators ease burdens on public ed at the same time in same way?
As I watch the Texas Senate debate #senatebill2 I wonder, do any of them have the ability to honestly consider if their actions, mandates, and disingenuous talking points are actually what's wrong with public schools in Texas? #txlege#txed
Every Texas family should have the opportunity to choose the path that's BEST for their child.
Our state can provide families with choices to meet students’ needs.
We MUST PASS school choice this session.
