A very big problem we've seen in our community across all our various training cohorts, especially the skill-up program that touches on technical careers in Web3, is how most of the ladies drop-out at the first few weeks due to the lack of a good-working PC, or no PC at all.
It has been a pain to us because we see the zeal in most of these ladies to go from being a regular trader (there's absolutely no problem with this), to being an active contributor or builder in the space.
While we've seen we can't really solve this due to our limited resources, we've decided to start small with what we have.
At the maiden edition of the WID Summit, we'll be giving out 5 laptops to support ladies who want to build in the web3 space.
This might just be the beginning of something that might happen quarterly if we get the appropriate resources and funding.
The laptops would be raffled out at the event, meaning you have to be there to receive it if you apply for it. This means that even if you get chosen and you're not present at the event, the laptop will be given to another lady present.
