@SonicSolutionRS@GetMyGuitars Noise!😀
Yes! I love a well played guitar, but a poorly played guitar is the worst.
You just need three notes for a chord.
You just need a few notes for a solo.
And it's fine to shut up sometimes.
Does it clearly sound shit?
Well stop. Try something else.
@SonicSolutionRS@GetMyGuitars I should have listened to the metronome advice earlier.
It definitely helps.
There's a lesson in patience and self-discipline involved too, which goes beyond the guitar really.
It's meditation.

Johnny Marr.
Morrissey with his tie, and the pens in his breast pocket. Hilarious.
We all got it.
The balloon he was bursting.
So good.
@StrumWithMe1 Sure I started out with something closer to that Van Halen pick pic.
But I was determined to get into some thumpicking stuff (Jansch, Carthy) and using the thumbpick changed how I hold a plectrum.
@Lloyd_Cole Interesting to me to read that, as a fan of Joni Mitchell, and a fan of Lloyd Cole.
I got into you because of the words, and the guitars.
Pretty soon after, largely because of Johnny Marr talking about her, I listened to Joni, and I loved it.
@tinsoldier65@SalvadorDafti It does!
The Peavey Backstage 30 was The Jam's secret weapon.
VCH would mic it up with some corrugated iron sheets around it for reverb.
So, with Weller giving his Rics a good hiding, you get this aggressive take on the Revolver guitar sounds.
Magic.
@JoeFrady@MANCHESTERMUS10 It's horrible!
He's said he was after that Gretsch vibe. That aesthetic.
50s, 60s.
Pretty keen to please Morrissey too.
At that point.
That'll have been part of it.
Great record!

YOU ARE WHAT YOU PLAY.
A hyperactive guitar riff played by a hyperactive person or written by a hyperactive person.
