Jesus, the Good Samaritan, loves and saves those who consider him a vile enemy and he invites us to go and do likewise for all of our neighbors.

[Keith Kolstad @KeithKolstad]

Revenge begets more revenge which begets still more revenge. It is God who steps in to stop it. Thanks be to God.

Genesis 3:19
By the sweat of your face
you shall eat bread
until you return to the ground,
for out of it you were taken;
you are dust,
and to dust you shall return.” A good reminder as we journey into this new year. We are created to work and make a difference.

Beyond our control, God’s reign is planted and grows within us. We can fight but it will win. It’s better to welcome the growth within us.

After being raised from the dead, Jesus foolishly goes ahead of the disciples to their homes in Galilee, rather than the power-brokers in Jerusalem. He continues this today.

Notice Jesus' dependence upon others: The provider of the colt; The provider of the Upper Room; and Joseph of Arimathea for his tomb.

Not satisfied with the loneliness that comes with being seen from a distance, Jesus embraces the cross so that where he is, there we may be also.

[Keith Kolstad @KeithKolstad]

Jesus is the presence of God’s loving light in this dark world. That light shines for all and we are welcome to embrace it or not.

[Keith Kolstad @KeithKolstad]

God gave the children of God the Ten Commandments not as a means for God to love us more, but as a means for us to love the world more.

[Keith Kolstad @KeithKolstad]

Jesus knows the anxiety that his call to take up the cross and follow him can create, but he gives us more than the world when we do so.

Do reliability and faith go hand in hand? Isn't all of our righteousness tainted with sin? And yet, in faith, we follow. https://t.co/OMNWM6ZUoz

Can we ever be free enough from self-interest and grandiosity to reliably know that something in our hearts is "God's will" and not our own?

[Keith Kolstad @KeithKolstad]

#zionmarinette I love the possibility of being able to converse during the service!

[Keith Kolstad @KeithKolstad]

@ZionMarinette testing to see who can see this conversation.

[Keith Kolstad @KeithKolstad]

Not even being dead for four days could stop Lazarus from hearing the Shepherd calling out his name. Nothing can stop us from hearing it!
