When #UWaterloo alumnus, Josh Kalpin, volunteered to help @VaxHuntersCan, he was trying to protect his family and friends from COVID-19.
Now, just one month later, he’s helped thousands of people across the country get life-saving shots.

@VaxHuntersCan That being said, the CSR was super polite, and I realize this is a process and I am lucky that I have not gotten sick or my grandma, so so far so good, but perhaps I fall into a niche situation where it seems like I should qualify but can't. Doesn't feel intuitive
@VaxHuntersCan So I called the Ontario COVID vaccination line, and because my grandma doesn't fall into the highest risk HEALTH category, I don't qualify (as a caregiver). But I guess age ISN'T factored into this category. But if I care for her, and she's a Ph1 patient... logic??
By Ontario's standards I qualify for Phase 2, but in my PHU I don't. I am a 25 y/o caregiver, provide sustained assistance to my 92 y/o grandmother with asthma (at risk chronic condition). What is confusing is that she's Phase 1, top priority terms of age @VaxHuntersCan advice?
@VaxHuntersCan I'm a 25 y/o primary caregiver for my 92 y/o grandmother in M8V area code ON. Does your team know what proof I need to book a vaccine? Moved here within last year, do not have a doctor here.
She is vaccinated. I should have gone w/ her to get mine too but couldnt.
Every day I read and research a little more about long distance running: base building, form, pacing, stretching, racing. When I was younger, I felt in a rush and flustered by all of the information. Now, I am more patient, deliberate, and methodical in deciding how to proceed.
Hollandaise Sauce Attempt #2. Kept everything a lot cooler, controlled pot temperature better. Stirred too much and it thickened more than I liked - but it held! Generally, a success.
Finding a Process Engineering job is my goal right now. Unfortunately, as I continue to search for employment... optimizing my grandma's orthopedic back-rest position with the limited number of chairs in this house will have to do... #ProcessImprovement
Unifor National President Jerry Dias says $1.95 billion will be invested in Ford’s Canadian plants, including $1.8 billion toward the production of five electric vehicles in Oakville, Ont., and an engine contract that could yield new jobs in Windsor. https://t.co/6fCmTawXSt
I wouldn't be surprised if a large percent of Americans will vote for Donald Trump & not be willing to admit it (on a poll or otherwise). Twitter mobs will call them racist, sexist & everything else to avoid thinking about any deeper reasons for why such a group might exist.
To my overall point: I rem. being so into running in 2014. First Half Marathon then. Sub 50 min 10k in 2015. Sub 1hr50min in 2015 Half Marathon.
I told myself I would qualify for the Boston Marathon one day.
Now that I am done school, this a written promise to myself.
At first, I was put off by the idea of a virtual run event you have to pay for, but then again I am positive there are a lot of hardworking people that were expecting to organize these events this year.
& of course they are enjoyed by 1000's, giving people goals to strive toward
Realizing over the past weeks that the soil has way too much clay. I did not properly amend the soil for carrots. Not soft or loose enough. Oh well...
At least I can't mess up stratifying blueberry seeds?
Only time will tell.
My carrot seedlings survived the initial hot weather! Though the on and off rain has helped a lot this past week. Hoping these beauties don't fork... More updates to come...
Don't ask my why plugging the programmer directly into the board worked instead of using the jumpers... I was scared all the electrons would fall out...
