@UMassHockey@CoachCarvelUM What a great game to be a UMass Hockey fan!! Congrats to the whole team!! They looked totally different from Thursday night. That team out there tonight could beat anybody!!
@UMassAthletics Donnie - your buddy said it best when he said that most of us could only dream about doing what you’ve done. You have a phenomenal career and we were privileged enough to get you back even if the powers that be couldn’t appreciate it.
@UMassAthletics Don Brown loves UMass and UMass football. He turned down multiple offers while in Arizona to come back and turn our program around. The mess he inherited was absolutely abysmal. Year 1 was just putting out the fire.
@UMassAthletics It’s a shame that Don sacrificed his personal accomplishments, of which there were many, to attempt the UMass comeback. People will not agree with some of your coaching picks but you were loyal to a fault. Who are we to second guess you.
@UMassAthletics Not getting the ability to coach in the conference you helped get us into doesn’t sit well. Systemic program change needs to happen. Don’t go backwards but do support the program.
@UMassAthletics I never leave sporting events early and during the Walt Bell era I left more times at halftime then I care to count. I ALWAYS felt that Don’s teams could come back. We were ahead so many times. These young quarterbacks hand us hope.
@UMassAthletics This year with 3 SEC games and the top 4 MAC schools we were in so many games. It was exciting and hopeful. Don’s reputation legitimized our ability to get back into the MAC.
@UMassAthletics With more support could this program have done better, absolutely. Was Don the right guy, yes. Did we give him the support he deserved, no. Even little things like E Mich game at their stadium 2 years in a row was infuriating. unbelievable
@UMassAthletics This does not define Don Brown. Don will always be “Dr. Blitz” and it is always gratifying to see him on the sidelines wherever he is. Everyone can second guess him all you want but his body of work stands on its own.
@UMassAthletics Never fault these coaches for their effort as they are in for 12-16 hours during the season. I’ve been running multiple companies and I wouldn’t want to put on the hours these guys do.
@UMassAthletics Don can recruit New England like no other coach. Every school knows Don and he knows them. UMass wouldn’t even be in the conversation if it wasn’t for Don. His ability to attract talent to UMass is well beyond our past coaches.
@UMassAthletics Try being one of the few independents out there and basically being cannon fodder simply so that all your other programs can benefit from your teams misery. How many injuries from playing teams well beyond what we should be playing.
@UMassAthletics Don loves his players and would do ANYTHING for them. I’ve been with Don numerous times when he has gotten a phone call at any time, day or night and he was always available for those guys, or their parents. He truly cares…
@FightMA247 We have been in every game. Penalties are killing us and we need to stop turning the ball over. But for a couple of plays this team is 3-1 instead of 1-3. Keep the faith and keep cheering on our guys.
If we want this team to be a winner we need show up on Saturday and be loud. We need to create a home field advantage and get rid of the losing ways. Go UMass! Pack McGuirk! Beat Miami! Why not us? @UMassFootball
The next 4 games are all winnable for UMass football this is the most important stretch of the season. Today was a disappointment but keep the positive attitude around this program this is a much better team then last year and they will show it next week.
