Yorkshire exile in Portsmouth, British and European. Always Labour. WW1 history, esp Salonika. Red wine, and cricket. I block racists and infantile leftists.
@likesretirement@Vinc_Ev_@AlisonA70131826@Alison_S_Taylor@Hepworthclare@LBC@lewis_goodall I met Keir in the Corbyn era. He was visiting to support a young, first term Labour MP, and we chatted for a few minutes. He was friendly, easy to talk to, and happy to respond to my views, which were not all on piste. I came away with hope for my Party's post Corbyn future 1/2
@Thehuck_59@susanpow@HeatherJeeves Some have fallen for the conspiracy, most I trust don't want Makerfield to end up with a Reform MP, and neither do I; although if I lived there it would not be easy as a committed LP member since 1970 to cast a vote for Burnham.
@YardleyShooting Andy Burnham is being set up to win Makerfield. Did you see the competition the other evening? But Iโd lay money on him being a 3 times failure in becoming Labour Leader.
@EmmaLewell@andy4makerfield How about posting about your support for the Labour Party, not for a would be carpetbagger. I want Reform to lose at the by-election obviously, but I would like to see a plethora of Labour posters , not cheap cult images.
@PrfChrisPainter Literate and educated people don't back Reform. Mostly they appreciate the work of this Labour government, even those who are L-D's and the genuine Greens; I exclude of course the new TrotGreens who want permanent opposition if they can't have power..
One Sikh man committed a murder.
535,000 British Sikhs did not.
They served in our armies.
They built our cities. They fed our homeless.
They sheltered our children after Manchester.
Know your allies. Donโt let hatred win.

@pippip343 Not news. Most people who can read, were already well aware that Keir is not a quitter, and will defend any leadership challenge, if there even is one.
@catdeans@Ellekl@denbypottery I agree with you, but the population doesn't, and a business exists to make profits. I regret the loss of a firm like Denby, but the world and country have moved on.
@King0243_PJC@DavidHTower Apparently 4 of the Nazi thugs arrested for attacking British ๐ฌ๐ง Police Officers in the #FarageRiots are @reformparty_uk Councillorsโฆ.let that sink in anyone who is tempted to vote for these โpatriotsโโฆ
@blaiklockBP 3 years for such a violent offence seems reasonable. I agree, that many decent people will feel radicalised that he got such a modest sentence.
@Richboxingbets@donmcgowan You don't have to, you can leave anytime.
Anyway, there are sentencing guidelines that have been reviewed regularly, and not by politicians.
@Richboxingbets@donmcgowan There is a difference between feckless littering, and hurling a fairly heavy object around that could hit vulnerable heads and faces, or do you see no risk in the latter?
I would not want to be in a street where what you apparently regard as acceptable conduct is practised.
