A ‘heartbreaking incident’: Pedestrian killed crossing road in Toronto’s west end https://t.co/n6PZdpqY1t Another death that could have been avoided if Tesla FSD had been used. The car would not have hit the pedestrian.
Ricky, an amazing 71-year-old man, bought his first Tesla solely for the Tesla Self-Driving software. Without it, he would have to rely on someone else to drive for him.
The Elon Musk effect on humanity.
I’m a former police officer with 10 years of experience, including enforcing the Highway Traffic Act and laying careless driving and other charges. I’ve also been using FSD (Supervised) since 2018 on my Model 3.
From my perspective, it’s clear when an officer doesn’t have real experience with how Tesla FSD actually operates. The system has improved exponentially over time. It went from requiring frequent steering wheel input every 45–60 seconds, with issues like shadow-induced “ghost braking,” to the current version where you can drive for hours without touching the wheel, as long as you remain attentive and keep your eyes on the road.
I’ve personally experienced situations where my Tesla Cybertruck reacted faster than I could — detecting risks I wouldn’t have seen in time. With 8–9 cameras monitoring the environment, that level of awareness is simply beyond human capability.
That said, it’s not perfect. In about 1–3% of situations, FSD still needs driver input. I drive through serious Canadian winter conditions, and it handles most snow, heavy rain, and challenging weather very well. However, there are still gaps — for example, it doesn’t consistently activate windshield cleaning, and the rear camera lacks a dedicated sprayer to clear snow and dirt. While FSD can currently operate without relying heavily on the rear camera, that will likely be necessary for full autonomy.
These edge cases are rare, but they do exist. Still, in roughly 99% of real-world driving scenarios, FSD is already significantly safer than human drivers. It benefits from redundant safety systems and a continuously improving safety record driven by constant updates from Tesla.
All Tesla vehicles also achieve top-tier crash safety ratings. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
From an enforcement perspective, many officers already drive Teslas daily. Those with firsthand experience are best positioned to speak accurately about how FSD works and what constitutes proper driver attention when discussing these systems publicly. Maybe we can get @tesla help us with official data to explain what new standards for safety are when it comes to FSD
@TheInevitableAI@DBurkland That stop sign on the side street appears to be in the wrong spot. It should have been placed further back on the boulevard. I would ask the city or town to look at it.
During this interview with Alibaba’s founder, Jack Ma, America’s moral rot and strategic bankruptcy is put on full display.
For over 30 years, US corporations pillaged their own country, shipping jobs and industry overseas while stuffing themselves with profits so grotesque they eclipse the combined wealth of China’s four largest banks.
An astonishing $14.2 trillion was torched on 13 senseless wars, wars that achieved nothing except enriching defense contractors and geopolitical parasites, while the rest of the loot was shoveled straight into Wall Street’s bottomless maw.
Roads rot, bridges fail, cities decay, and working people are abandoned to scrape by in an economy rigged against them.
What remains is not a superpower, but a hollowed-out carcass: a nation addicted to greed, governed by incompetence, and utterly indifferent to its own collapse. America didn’t fall,it sold itself off piece by piece, and now stands as a cautionary monument to unchecked profit worship.
