@TheNotoriousMMA Gotta shout out @TonyFergusonXT when he returned to the cage after only 6-8 months and fought Anthony Pettis at UFC 229, battering him inside a telephone booth until he waved the white flag on the stool. Prime Tony would have been Khabib’s toughest fight. The RDA version..
@mmamania (4) But I’m leaning towards him pushing to be released from his contract, sign with Hearn, collect a massive bag. Which, good on him. At least the whole duck shenanigans with Jones can be laid to rest, because he wants no part of Cyril ever again.
@mmamania It’s very simple. Gane was piecing Tom up. A lot of eyes and pressure was on that fight. On how well Tom would fare against the same opponent that Jon Jones easily walked through. Not a single punch landed on Jones. This HAD to be, undoubtedly, on Tom’s mind going in.
@mmamania (3) Because if not, the sport will humble you one way or another. Tom will indeed now do anything to avoid another fight with Gane. Ask to be released from contract all of a sudden; ask for an astronomical amount of money to fight Gane again.
@mmamania The whole duck business is now quite ironic considering the events that played out and how a rematch with Gane won’t happen. I called it the moment Tom waved the white flag, he won’t sign a rematch. 100%. Oh well, that’s why it’s much easier to just be humble in this sport.
@mmamania (2) The eye poke was the easiest escape route out of that fight because he knew he was losing badly. Gane drew blood within the opening frame with Tom, but Jon was almost playing with him. Notice how Tom was all of a sudden awfully mum about Jones afterwards?
@TapTheCasuals@ChampRDS@ufc It’s not authentic. It’s a gimmick. It’s fake. Like Colby. It’s annoying as fuck and you don’t even care to see him fight at all. That’s just me though. Just be yourself dude.
@ChampRDS Nate vs Oliveira needs to happen. That’s a barn burner. Both love to strike and choke people. The grappling exchange would be phenomenal. Charles wouldn’t strike with Nate too long once he starts getting peppered up. Plus, I think his appetite for adding a Diaz to his submission
@ChampRDS (2) list would be too great. Charles could probably have a slight advantage in wrestling and control a more dominant position, but I don’t see either one of them getting a sub.
@dseanmac@ChampRDS I’d rather say reckless and sloppy at times. Nate is inhumanly tough. Most men would have broken from the amount of leg kicks he sustained from RDA. The sound they made, and he still was in the fight. Nobody can break Nates will to fight. You either have to ko or outpoint him.
@StephenKing People are funny with what they think are insults. Meanwhile he’s basking in his house with no boss to be on time for, and a loaded bank account that will never dry up. All I’m getting at is I don’t think he gives two shits that you haven’t bought his books 🤣
@Paristo43@BCTheTruthl We will say that about every next generation though. The MW’s in ten years will do the same thing to the current MW’s of today.
It’s about who they beat in THEIR time. Hypothetical comparisons are irrelevant.
@CasualMMA The writing on the wall is easy to see when someone is bullshitting. So I’ll call it now: Tom will blame the UFC and feed the media his victim-blaming, all simply because he knows Jon made Gane look like he didn’t belong in there, and Gane was beating him up.
@CasualMMA Tom was getting pieced up by Gane. He absolutely wanted out of that fight. So when the poke happened, Tom already had his mind made up that he wasn’t going to continue. Also, I said this from day one: good luck getting Tom to sign a contract to fight Gane again. Not happening.
