Still so sick over the horrific end to Charlieās life. I really hope the internet is scrubbed of every last one of the videos that show it. No one, and I mean NO ONE, needs to watch someoneās last moments like that.
@NickJFreitas Such beautiful words. So well articulated. I think you speak for many of us with this. God bless you & yours, & God bless the Kirk family. Thank you, Nick ā¤ļø
saying men cannot become women is not an extremist position
saying young people should get married, make families and own a home is not an extremist position
saying you want America to be great is not an extremist position
i'm fed up w people not speaking these simple truths
I am calling on @elonmusk, @finkd, and @tiktok_us to remove the horrifying videos of Charlie Kirkās murder. He has a family, young children, and no one should be forced to relive this tragedy online. These are not the only graphic videos of horrifying murders circulatingā at some point, social media begins to desensitize humanity. We must still value life. Please take them down.
Once again, a bullet has silenced the most eloquent truth teller of an era. My dear friend Charlie Kirk was our country's relentless and courageous crusader for free speech. We pray for Erika and the children. Charlie is already in paradise with the angels. We ask his prayers for our country.
I am told that as a state representative this is the moment where I'm supposed to express my heartfelt condolences and then stand in solidarity with those on the other side of the aisle as we condemn political violence and stand unified as one people.
But we aren't "one people" are we?
The truth is we haven't been for some time now, and there is really no point in pretending anymore, if there ever was.
We are two very different peoples. We may occupy the same piece of geography, but that is where the similarities seem to abruptly end.
I convinced myself for a long time that whenever the left called me a racist, a bigot, a sexist, a fascist, a "threat to democracy" for even the most innocent of disagreements, that it was simply hyperbolic rhetoric done for effect.
And now the "effect" is a widow and two orphaned children, because the left couldnāt bear the thought of a peaceful man debating them and winning.
I donāt think they realize it yet, but murdering Charlie is going to be remembered as the day where we finally woke up to what this fight really is.
Itās not a civil dispute among fellow countrymen. Itās a war between diametrically opposed worldviews which cannot peacefully coexist with one another. One side will win, and one side will lose.
Charlie tried to win that fight through argumentation, through discussion, through peaceful resolution of differences.
And the other side murdered him.
Not because he was āextremeā or āinciting violenceā or any other hyperbolic slur they hurled at him. They murdered him because he was effective. Because he was unafraid. Because he inspired others and made them feel like they had a voice, that they were not alone. And he did it at the very institutions which have fomented so much hatred toward conservatives.
I donāt want to āstand in solidarityā with the other side of the aisle. I want to defeat you. I want to defeat the godless ideology that kills babies in the womb, sterilizes confused children, turns our cities into cesspools of degeneracy and lawlessnessā¦and that murdered Charlie Kirk.
Social media is aflame right now with leftist celebration of Charlieās death.
I wonder if any among them understand what has just happened. If there is a Yamamoto somewhere in their midst warning, that all they have done is awoken a sleeping giant.
I doubt it. I think they gave up such introspection and self-awareness long ago.
I donāt know exactly what will happen next. I just know that it wonāt be the same as what has happened in the past.
There will be thoughts and prayersā¦Charlie would have wanted prayers. Not for himself but for those left behind and for the country that he loved.
But then there will be a reckoning.
My Christian faith requires me to love my enemies and pray for those who curse me. It does not require me to stand idly by in the midst of savagery and barbarism...quite the opposite.
So every time I feel tired, every time I feel discouraged or overwhelmed, I am going to watch the video of a good man being murdered in Utahā¦I will force myself to watch itā¦and then I will return to the work of destroying the evil ideology responsible for that and so much more.
Rest with God Charlie, your fight is over.
Ours is just beginning.
I hope I'm wrong.
But tonight feels like some sort of invisible line has been crossed that we didn't even know was there. The last time I felt like this was 9/11 when it was clear, without knowing the how and the what, that the world was about to change forever.
Like the rules of the game had been permanently altered and there was simply no going to back to the innocent, peaceful past.
I didn't feel like this when an attempt was made on President Trump's life. If I had to rationalise why I didn't, I guess it's because several US Presidents have been shot at and even assassinated. Somehow it was within the realms of the possible, no matter how awful.
But to murder a young father simply for doing debates and mobilising young people to vote for a party that represents half of America? This is something else.
Charlie's death is a tragedy for his wife, his children and his family. I don't pray often. I am praying for them tonight.
But I fear his murder will be a tragedy for all of us in ways we will only understand as time unfolds.
I hope I'm wrong.
I donāt care right now about the haters on cable. I donāt care about anodyne statements from politicians about Charlie.
I only care about 3 things:
1. That his killer be caught, tried and given the ultimate punishment;
2. That we pray for his family, friends and colleagues and do everything possible to ease their pain; and
3. That we amplify Charlieās message to the mountaintops and not retreat in spreading it even one fucking inch.
Charlieās children will be raised with stories instead of memories, photographs instead of laughter, and silence where their fatherās voice should have echoed.
Charlie Kirkās life should serve as a symbolic reminder that compassionate awareness elevates family, love, and country.
I saw this video this morning on my feed and I think it so eloquently explains what Charlie Kirk was put on this earth to do.
āWhen people stop talking, thatās when you get violence, that is when civil war happensā
Charlie Kirk was more committed to peaceful, open dialogue with those who disagreed with him than anyone I know. God blessed him with immense gifts, and he used them boldly and without fear. He knew the risks he was taking, but he did it anyway because he loved his kids & felt a responsibility to the nation they would inhabit. I traveled the entire country with him last year, we spent 1x1 time together in Ohio two weeks ago, spoke to him again 2 days ago. Heās long warned of the rise of political violence & the growing culture of assassination, when few were willing to listen, with a clarity of vision unlike anyone Iāve known. Completely and utterly devastated.
I pray his death will not be in vain. I know heās been welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven with the open arms of our Father. I pray this country finds Jesus as Charlie did, so all will be welcomed into Eternal Life one day as he was today.
May God bless @charliekirk11 , his beautiful wife @MrsErikaKirk , their children, his family & friends & the incredible legacy he is leaving behind. He was one of the good ones. This is absolutely devastating.
