RIP Scott Bryce
When I started watching 80s ATWT a few years ago, Craig and Sierra quickly became one of my favourite couples. Forever my Craig Montgomery. ❤️
Rest in Peace to Emmy-nominated screen and stage veteran Scott Bryce, best known for his multiple stints as the complex Craig Montgomery. Bryce also made his mark in film and primetime, further showcasing his range and undeniable talent. He will be missed.
Randolph Mantooth, best known as “Johnny Gage” on EMERGENCY!, and who passed away Thursday at age 80, didn’t even know what a paramedic was when he was cast in the iconic role as a member of Los Angeles’ Station 51.
He wasn’t alone. There were only 13 of them in the U.S. – all in California.
Mantooth’s character not only helped educate Americans about the profession – but it also inspired countless men and women to pursue a career in the field.
Four years ago, Randolph was honored by the International Association of Fire Chiefs.
“To be honored by men and women who have dedicated their lives and careers to public safety, it humbles me,” he said.
Mass media is like so many other things that can be used for good or ill purposes.
Randolph Mantooth would go on to perform in soap operas and back on the stage where his career began, but he was forever associated with being a paramedic alongside Kevin Tighe, a.k.a. Roy DeSoto.
“I’m remembered for something that changed emergency medicine forever, that actually saved lives,” he told the Television Academy. “How lucky can any one person be?”
Who remembers this show? Did you know that about paramedics?

😔
Dammit. This one hurts. Randolph Mantooth has passed. Age-80 . Emergency’s Johnny Gage. Emergency was a spinoff of Adam-12. I have seen all eps numerous times, own every episode including the made for tv movies. From January 22, 1972-May 28, 1977 Roy And Johnny’s squad 51 thrilled us ‘saving’ countless lives. I was 9-13 yrs old while this aired, and was a must watch for me! Only Roy- Kevin Tighe age 81 and Dr Brackett- Robert Fuller age 92 remain alive of primary 5 person cast. My heart goes out to his loved ones. RIP ❤️
