@MaraGordonMD@NPR I do not think a conference is at all the same as vacation. We are hoping to learn to bring back to our patients or our practices and in my opinion it’s ok to connect back with both of those. It’s still work time… though documentation is excessive

All people need love, and to feel heard and seen. Safe, stable, nurturing relationships have been found to promote positive health outcomes across the lifespan by mitigating the impact of toxic stress. 🧵
Sometimes parents try to meet a child’s social needs within the family unit and may be hesitant or skeptical to ask for outside assistance with this aspect. When it comes to friends and social supports, a few meaningful connections are often enough to make a huge difference.
As tough as it feels when you first face a new challenge, it's helpful to remember that caregiving does get easier 💪🏻
For example, a second time parent can use what they learned in the first child’s experience to better navigate with the second child. 🧵
I wrote #AdvancedParenting with the hope that parents can learn these skills the *easy* way by reading, rather than learning the hard way, by struggling and failing.
