Here is a little sample video from my values course about tightly held stories about our troubles, from a behavioral view. I think it gives a reasonable sample of some of the didactic bits of the course.

Joe Rogan, a non-medical internet celebrity, on fast tracking FDA approval for ibogaine, a psychoactive compound.
โI sent President Trump some information. With a dose of ibogaine, over 80% of people are freed from their opioid addiction. With two doses, it's over 90%.
I sent that information, and the reply [from Trump] came back: Sounds great. Do you want FDA approval? Let's do it. It was literally that quick."
What is ibogaine? Is this a good thing for medicine?
I do *not* want an AI "summary" of an email, or a book, or a life. I do not want an AI summary of a winter sky, or my father's hands, or the hope in my child's eyes. I do not want an AI summary of the human heart, or the first little shiver of lust, or the long good work of love.
The goodness of an early morning run in the Sonoran Desert--a pair of Red Tail Hawks, caught at just the right moment. I do love some slow desert trail running.
It's been a minute since I've been to an ACBS WorldCon! Dianna and I have added a month in Europe to our usual giant loop around the country in our Roadtrek Sprinter Van. Looking forward to catching up with old friends and making some new friends. Italy & France, here we come!
@DoctorPerin 20 or so years ago, my friend Niklas Torneke told me to write a practitioner's book on RFT. I told him, "no, you should write it." He did: https://t.co/ka9bjUVSvn
@heynavtoor With Phenomenology or what went down at the Rice Symposium on behaviorism and phenomenology in the early 60s. Then it responded coherently. Presumably all that info was already available. But the undergrad super common textbook answer was much more likely. And so it goes
@heynavtoor It seems to answer, not what is so, or what weโve said is so, rather what it is likely we said. I asked Claude about the relation between B F Skinner and phenomenology. It said that they were opposites. I said, what about Willard Dayโs 1969 paper Behaviorism in Reconciliation (1
Currently only one woman is in prison, yet many men were involved. Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell targeted vulnerable children - 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 years old. Epstein wanted them to look younger than they were. He wasnโt the only one. Accountability is needed for every man who raped these children. I stand in solidarity with the Epstein survivors. Accountability, integrity and justice matter ๐๐ฃ

Out running trails in the Sonoran Desert, I love the blue hour, that liminal space between star field and sunrise. This is a great horned owl, fantastic creature. Sound upโcalling for a mate.
As the govt shutdown stretches, federal workers go without paychecks, people lose food stamps, well, at least we are getting a new golden ballroom!
Thought Iโd put my AI subscription to good use.
My college career began at 30, a high school dropout, straight out of a much needed locked psych hospitalization and drug rehab. I've had the good fortune of many amazing teachers. RIP Sam Leigland--thanks for introducing me to a behaviorism I could love.
