@Inv3_Math In the third grade Investigations curriculum, students make a thousands chart out of ten hundreds charts. Some teachers at my district make it horizontally and others vertically. Does the orientation affect the math highlighted in the activity?
Due to lack of clear directions on how much concentrate to use to fill up multi surface cleaner bottle, I ended up with a fun math problem! #iteachmath#MTBoS
I created free sets of base-10 blocks that can be used in Google Slides to help your students collaborate with "hands-on" math during #distancelearning. Thanks to
@brainingcamp for the images. Please share with anyone that might like it. #onlinelearning https://t.co/2nkNSb1GeI
I'm running a free monthly series tackling your biggest challenges with distance learning. Sessions will be recorded and I will alternate between morning and evening to accommodate folks in different time zones. Register: https://t.co/NVdTNZIblu #distancelearning#onlineteaching
I am working on gathering a collection of online resources for math routines on my website to share with my colleagues. What are your favorite places to get math routines ideas? @6Mamt

I am leading a PD on math routines in a remote environment. I teach 4th grade. Did any lower elementary teachers try out math routines remotely? How did it go? Any insights, challenges, ideas? #iteachmath#MTBoS
@cmassey1011 Thanks so much!! Super helpful. It will be interesting if my district starts online this year and how to establish new routines with new kids.
@cmassey1011 Thanks for those suggestions! What grade do you teach? Were there any particular expectations and routines that were helpful to teach students in the virtual environment to keep them engaged?
@joleehill@6Mamt I think math routines is a great place to start. I am leading a PD on it this summer for teachers, happy to brainstorm ideas with you if you want!
Let's learn a few tips to change our language. "...despite the incredible value that women have, we too often second guess that value and hold back from saying the very things that most need to be heard." More @ https://t.co/cPI7kUrTVj #mondaymoxie
Found a way to get @Inv3_Math power polygons (thanks to @MikeFlynn55 creating them for our grad class) and quadrilateral/triangle shape cards on google slides for students to move around and sort by attributes. #iteachmath#MTBoS https://t.co/GOojgOXQz2
@joleehill I have found it works well. It’s so much easier for kids to get distracted in virtual meetings than real life. I check each kids work and make sure they are engaged by having them hold it up or using https://t.co/A7buBGU0KH. That would be hard to to do with whole class.
