Antisemtic text was projected on the @annefrankhouse this week. Days before my daughter and I discussed the importance of school children reading the words of the diary. She clearly understood the importance of Anne Frank’s words. These words should not be diminished.

The school is abuzz with activity. Archery, scholarly competitions, an assembly highlighting athletics and performances. It is wonderful to be back in the swing of school life that was muted the last few years. I love watching student talent shine. @CHSBulldogs1893 @PhelpsCenter

@MattRhoads1990 I believe that we need to rebuild the community aspects of our schools. I am a mom and a teacher. I hear the parent blaming at school meetings. I hear the school blaming when waiting to get my kids after school. The lack of community has degraded trust on all sides. Kids feel it.

@TechNinjaTodd My elementary kids went to school complaining that their pre-k sister got to staying home sick. When I picked them up, they were waving perfect attendance spirit sticks. I thought quietly of the likelihood the stomach bug would run through the house. Even as a parent, no control.

As first semester winds down, I gave the students a “trick assignment” (Their words — not mine). We identified aspects of self care and stress relievers. Now they are making music playlists that will be resources to support their physical and mental health in stressful moments.
