@KatieSande21232 @mrraffel It really can! I have worked at places that have micromanaged things down to the minute and not prioritized a happy/positive environment. It unfortunately didn't create productivity, it greatly decreased it and staff turnover was awful!
@birdie_opyd @mrraffel I agree! While it can be hard to get out of our routines or try new things, I agree we need to find the good (even small bits of good) and try things. Keeping an open mind is very important!
@jettwadew @mrraffel I agree! Being understanding and willing to "go with the flow" really helps to create that positivity as well. Finding the good, helps build that positive energy and spread happiness!
@KatieSande21232 @mrraffel It really can be contagious! I agree! I think that shows just how important we are to one another and the kids we serve. We really have an impact over how others feel and a part of their day.
@Monica2ndgrade @mrraffel @shawnachor I so notice this too! I read an opinion somewhere that the mother is the thermostat for the home (I think the father is as well though). It is hard, I notice that if I am not in the best of moods, it throws everyone off.
@mrraffel A4:I think allowing people to find what makes them feel productive, passionate and comfortable really helps. Knowing that what works for one, won't always work for another. Personally motivating and creating that environment to do so helps with growth. #D54Happy
@mrraffel A3: I feel like if I focus on my mindset and really work to find the joy in the moment then I am setting myself up for feeling more motivated and productive. It echos that throughout this book. From this, when I feel more productive, I tend to get more things done and continues.
@mrraffel @shawnachor A2: I personally have seen this happen when I have either been tired or just not as enthusiastic about something, it tends to trickle into how the kids feel. Versus if I have a more upbeat and excited or caring display of emotions they too join in and thrive off of that #D54Happy
@mrraffel A1: The Ripple Effect puts it into perspective that what we put out there starts a chain reactions of sorts. We are to work first at being what we hope would catch on and start moving things in the direction of more positivity/happiness #D54Happy
@mrraffel A4: It will increase the likelihood of persistence and perseverance. Getting overwhelmed by too many tasks and too many big things to get done quickly overwhelms and creates exhaustion. Smaller, more manageable tasks helps show progress to ourselves. Things accomplished!
@mrraffel A3: When I am trying to balance things I need to get done in school, within the classroom & at home I can pick smaller more manageable tasks. Smaller & more focused instead of trying to get multiple things done at once, becoming overwhelmed. Mastering one thing before moving on
@mrraffel A2-The idea of falling up can be applied to my current challenge of meeting my students' needs. It can feel like failing repeatedly when trying to teach certain things they seem to not be understanding or retaining. Seeing students suddenly understand is great though. #D54Happy
@SaraC_2008 @mrraffel I so agree, it is definitely a training of our brains. We get into habits so often that if we work at creating this positive habit, it could be a good one!
@mrraffel A1-Consciously choosing what we focus on conditions how we feel overall. Our patterns (both negative and positive) derive from what we focus on which in turn helps guide our decisions and actions. Looking at positives helps us feel more positive. #D54Happy
@cosborn55 @mrraffel @shawnachor So agree, there really are more positives! When you can change that focus and mindset, it might not change what you are going through but it will change how you go through it and overcome it!
