@fugitivemama CFS & fibromyalgia 15 years w/ depression/anxiety. Spent 6 years trying to get disability, never could. Was told that some drs “know how to fill out papers” & generational abusers teach each other how to access it. M & M no doubt the same. NGOs/govt help fraudsters w/ paperwork

@goneers This happened in medical transcription field 15 years ago when speech recognition software was released. Told we had to accept huge cuts (70% in my case) to train the software to keep our jobs just for them to offshore them to India in the end.

@SarahHuckabee What about house insurance? We were forced by co. to replace roof deemed in perfect condition by their own inspector due to their new policy after tornadoes in LR to refuse to fully cover roofs over a certain age, or house contents. $35,00 loan we had to take out FOR NO REASON!

@RealSpitfire @SecScottBessent I actually read a newspaper article about this 12+ years ago (in a VERY blue state), talking about how many were claiming 12-15 kids and raking in money, often claiming relatives’ kids that weren’t even living in US. Not paying a penny in taxes, just taking.

@SharylAttkisson My husband & I started talking about why we were starting to have physical problems in our mid 40s (14 years ago) our parents didn’t start to have until their mid 60s. It has only gotten worse. We exercise, eat well, no meds, but our bodies are crashing out. Something has changed

@CaliRN619 My dad paid for long term care for my mom for 40 years. It takes that & almost all her SS and dad’s retirement to cover costs. People on Medicaid who didn’t take responsibility for themselves get everything for free & people who did can’t get glasses, hearing aids or dental care.

@uncvoss I may be missing something, but if each spouse is making 90,000 a year, 1 is working FT (after taxes) just to put their children in fancy daycare. If 1 is making over half, the other is working just to pay someone else to raise their kids. Maybe one can stay home w/ their kids?

@amelia_tweetz Gen X definitely hit the lottery in terms of best time to grow up, and we had a long run where things were great. But the sorrow of bringing children into a world where they will never have those things themselves is unbearable.

@HalCranmer When I started getting my mom’s insurance info after she went into assisted living, I found they had her on 4 different medications for very specific conditions, none of which she had. I told them to get her off them, and she’s doing much better now.

@VigilantFox He states the Fed says wages have gone up 46% in 10 years. My husband got a Doc in Higher Ed within that time and makes 19% more than 10 years ago. He is doing what he wants to do, so it’s good. But I bet a lot of people aren’t making 46% more than they were 10 years ago.

@goneers And yet Medicaid pays for everything, including dental, hearing aids and vision care for everyone on it. Since my mom has gone into a nursing home, everyone who works there has told me, “Just put her on Medicaid-it covers everything!”

@allie__voss It’s about communication and respect. So many people are completely selfish and deceptive about the way they spend money and do not care how it affects their financial status as a couple. This brings up an issue that can cause serious problems before the fact. Smart and healthy

@JoshuaLisec Son has been married a year. Wish DIL just wanted a wife. She wants indentured servant. He washes cars, does all yard work, etc., but she also expects him to do laundry, cook & do dishes. She will clean once in a while as long as they do it “together.”

@MarketPalmer_ This is one of the things about location-specific posts. I live in a midsize town in AR, and these exact items cost $105 at our Aldi. Doesn’t sound like much more, but it adds up quickly depending on # of mouths you have to feed.

Americans don't want socialism.

They want their paycheck to mean something again.

They want to buy a house without needing family money.

Raise kids without wondering if daycare costs more than their salary.

Retire before their body gives out.

None of that used to be considered unrealistic.

It shouldn't be now.

And socialism is NOT the answer.
