@RogerthePolice @JJSharpers I have a dedicated risk assessment for any investigations that I’ve done in the past not only to protect those under investigation but those that surround the investigation too. It’s already a horrible process to go through, we shouldn’t make it worse by not focusing on welfare.

Completely agree. The number of digital devices we see seized has grown exponentially over the past 5+ years. That said, the type of crime has changed too meaning more complex investigations require more complex examinations.

I often hear colleagues talking about the cost of achieving accreditation, especially with the broader scope of the regulatory regime. This can undervalue the significance of well tested, rigorous assurance which is essential to maintain public confidence in the #CJS #WeCops

I have seen negativity from forensic practitioners out of force about how it impacts on demand and ability to process more scenes and therefore get results. That said, I am yet to ever see anything introduced that changes policing culture go without something 1/2
