Nearly every day toward the end of my tenure at The Washington Post, someone would complain to me about Jeff Bezos' changes. His decimation of the local news team. His abandonment of DC sports coverage. The shriveled Bezos opinion page, with the ideological diversity of a doorknob.

Today, The Washington Sun launches. It has made enormous new investments: +110 newsroom staff; DC's legendary food columnist; truly the best DMV reporters; a beloved weather blog; a growing roster of columnists; tons of worldclass reporters across many national beats; and also me.

The Washington Sun will not be perfect. We will write stories that you find annoying, dumb, or misinformed. I will make mistakes (& tell me if I do - [email protected]!). But at a time where investments in reporting are evaporating, I'm so excited The Sun is hiring real journalists doing real reporting.

@AdamPollock 1) habits certainly matter in the long run but toddlerhood they are certainly more discerning by nature. This does pass.

2) best advice I ever got was to serve them delicious food. So, unseasoned veggies? Of course they pass. Serve it like you like to eat it! W fat & salt

@EricMGarcia Definitely odd but we don’t know the context, and churches like this often do sermon series themes. I once visited a mega church during a 3 week series on the Christian lessons the pastor learned from This is Us lol.

@lymanstoneky this feels somewhat intuitive no? many known causes for infertility like early menopause, balanced translocation, male infertility due to CF carrier status are all known to be heritable. Seems only likely that ART babies would still inherit these challenges at a higher rate
