@RainofTerra @netflix Thank you for speaking up. I’ve been fired due to transphobia before and I have to say cis (most often white) people in power have no idea what transphobia actually is. Netflix can say all they want about why they are targeting you, but it’s b/c you spoke truth to the cis-stem.

Lastly- I think you’d get a kick out of Robert Sapolsky’s work A Primate’s Memoir. He’s a neuroscientist who studied baboons in the wild in Kenya. Another angle to the Koko story is to ask whether you can draw far reaching conclusions about individual apes in unnatural settings

@yourewrongabout I just listened to the episode about Koko the gorilla and have some thoughts. One is it’s a colonized view of science to think that any lab scientist can be “objective” just because they are detached. Relationships always exist whether or not they are nurturing.
