I *need* everyone over 35 to understand that a lot of young voters / first time voters DO NOT understand how important the ACA is or how transformative this law was.
I just heard a Republican talking about people who supposedly "sit at home and collect Medicaid." What a strange thing to say. It's not a cash welfare program. There's nothing to collect. It's simply a way for the poor and disabled to access health care, an insurance plan.

I don’t think most people really understand how much it costs to help someone get an abortion — medical costs, transportation (Uber, gas, bus, flight, etc.), hotels, child care, food, and more.
From July 2022 to June 2023, abortion funds spent $37 MILLION on direct aid.

when national orgs ask what they can do to support local orgs on the ground my sole answer is always “amplify our fundraisers, give us money directly, & connect us with (ur) funders that would support our work”
