I lived in a BAPS hostel for two years. The leader of our hostel used to say, “Naari Nagni Jevi”, basically comparing women to venomous snakes. Swamis would routinely keep fast as punishment at the sight of women.
It's common for people who don't know what BAPS stands for to point fingers based on sensational headlines.
So here is a comprehensive record of BAPS women's leadership & global impact—realities media houses rarely report during controversies. 🧵👇
@gauravsabnis This is not the case in Vancouver, unfortunately. You would routinely see Indians either jumping fare or using a concession pass (which is for people with disabilities, children and seniors).
@AskKubeir It’s still very vague though. What exactly was flagged in their case to amount to a PFL? Or are people just applying for sponsorship without having a documented history of relationship and cohabitation?
watching good cinema is supposed to make u an empathetic person not a glorified pretentious jerk, if your consumption of good art doesn't make you a person who understands people and the world better it's pointless
If you are a fan of surrealist relationship dramas (psycho-dramas?) like Ari Aster's BEAU IS AFRAID from last year, do give Charlie Kaufman's I'M THINKING OF ENDING THINGS a shot.
It's quite a mindf*ck :-) It's on @NetflixIndia
PS: It's a 2020 movie. I just saw it last week.

Culturally, as an Indian, I found it challenging to make deep connections in the US—beyond coffee meetups, drinks, or the usual work/sports talk.
It is easier for me personally to form meaningful relationships and even rekindle old ones.
