Another interesting data point I think is worth talking about.

FWA, the third biggest con, had 15,000 attendees this year. Go down to the fourth biggest and it’s just over half that, and by the sixth biggest it’s only a third.

I don’t know if it’s normal for other hobbies to centralize so aggressively at the largest few spaces, but I think people really out to give some of the other conventions a chance.

If you miss on one of these giant con lotteries, why not give any other con a try? Imo ~5k attendance is the sweet spot for furry cons where they feel big and exciting without feeling overcrowded and overwhelming.
