I am appalled by Russia’s latest attacks across Ukraine, including on the National Academy of Sciences in Kyiv.
Scientists and staff should be able to work safely. Civilian institutions must not be targets of attacks. Norway stands firmly with Ukraine.
Thank you, @tochytski. We are proud to stand with Ukraine and support the Council of Europe’s efforts to secure accountability, justice and reparation for the victims of Russia’s aggression.
Ukraine fights for its freedom, sovereignty, peace and for Europe’s future.
On Independence Day, I pay tribute to the brave soldiers and civilians who endure Russia’s daily attacks with extraordinary courage.
Norway stands with Ukraine - now and for the long haul. 🇳🇴🤝🇺🇦
Yet again, massive Russian attacks on Ukraine have caused further suffering, destruction and tragic loss of life.
Such attacks against the civilian population are totally unacceptable. Norway stands firmly with Ukraine in its fight for freedom and independence. 🇳🇴🤝🇺🇦
Russia attacked several Ukrainian cities today. In Slovyansk, five people were killed, Latvia’s Honorary Consulate was destroyed, and two staff members were injured.
Our thoughts are with all those affected across Ukraine.
Norway will continue to support Ukraine.
Putin and his henchmen show their true colours as Russian forces bomb (among other civilian targets) a rehabilitation centre in Sumy for children with disabilities(!).
The cruelty and cowardice of the Kremlin leadership don’t cease to astonish. It’s simply paramount to bring these perpetrators to justice.

At the #NATOSummit in Ankara, allies showed how we are building for the future, ensuring that we have the capabilities we need and that responsibility is fairly shared across the Alliance.
This is NATO 3.0: a stronger Europe in a stronger NATO. https://t.co/3B2VeheJig
I condemn last night’s Russian attack on Ukraine, which yet again struck civilian sites, killing and injuring many. Russia's attacks on civilians are deeply concerning.
Our thoughts are with the victims and all those affected. Norway remains steadfast in its support for Ukraine.
What makes one of the harshest environments on Earth such a challenging but important area for Allied militaries?

Norway is upgrading its presence in #Greenland by establishing a Consulate General in Nuuk.

Always a pleasure to see @jonasgahrstore. Norway 🇳🇴 plays an important role in #NATO, including in the High North
We discussed priorities for the #NATOsummit in Ankara and I thanked the Prime Minister for Norway's unwavering commitment to our transatlantic Alliance & steadfast support for Ukraine
To fight in the Arctic, you have to survive it first ❄️
Norwegian 🇳🇴 forces are leading the way, training other NATO Allies to master one of the harshest environments on Earth
Russia's full-scale invasion of #Ukraine was one of the biggest strategic mistakes of the 21st century.
The Nordic countries support President @ZelenskyyUa call for an immediate ceasefire and direct talks.

While Russian bombs and drones brutally continue to kill and maim civilians in 🇺🇦Ukraine, Russian tourists continue to flock to Europe to enjoy their vacation. This is not acceptable.
Which is why 🇳🇴Norway has joined ten other Schengen countries in calling for the 🇪🇺European Commission to ensure restrictive visa measures and effective monitoring👇
With Russia continuing its aggression against Ukraine, I wanted to share a treasure from the recent #NATO trip to Kyiv. We were treated to a beautiful youth choir performance in the St Sophia Cathedral. If ever we need reminding what Ukraine 🇺🇦 is defending.
Important visit to Ukraine 🇺🇦 today - the first time a NATO-Ukraine Council meeting takes place in Kyiv – a strong message of the enduring bond between NATO and Ukraine
I also met with my friend @Zelenskyyua#NATO stands with you today and we will stand with you throughout the challenges ahead
We began the visit of NATO’s North Atlantic Council to Ukraine by honoring the memory of fallen Ukrainian warriors at the Wall of Remembrance. Along with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte @SecGenNATO, Chair of the Alliance’s Military Committee Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone @CMC_NATO, as well as the permanent representatives and deputy permanent representatives of all 32 NATO member states.
We deeply appreciate this sign of respect from the Alliance representatives toward our warriors, who defended our country and all of Europe from Russian evil. It is profoundly important to remember every single man and woman thanks to whom we have the opportunity to live freely and choose our own way of life.
Blessed be the memory of the fallen Ukrainian defenders. Eternal honor to the heroes.
