'I feel like I arrive in this MND space in a much more hopeful space because of the amazing work Doddie Weir did'
Former England rugby union captain Lewis Moody, who was diagnosed with MND last year, spoke to #BBCBreakfast about his seven-day cycling challenge in aid of the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation - a 500-mile trip from Newcastle to Twickenham, to deliver the match ball for the Prem final in June

Aimee Mann is the only guest vocalist on a Rush track, having sung on the band’s 1987 single “Time Stand Still” back when ‘Til Tuesday were still active. Rush kicked off their first tour in over a decade last night in Inglewood, CA, and they brought Mann onstage to perform the song live with them for the first time…
I’m sorry if people have been having a go at you because of my tweet. Not at all the plan. I was very slightly drunk and already upset about something that had nothing to do with you. If it’s any comfort, I got it in the neck too. I’m a thin-skinned twat, apparently, even though it wasn’t my skin. I was sticking up for the writers who I adored. Obviously I shouldn’t have cited Bach/Kahlo/Moore - asking for trouble - and would have done better to go for the 10,000 blues songs written around the same 12 bar chord structure. I’ve listened to most of them and will keep doing so. Because we love what we love.
Let me categorically Debunk this utter rot. @sainsburys.
I am a poultry Breeder. The hens that lay white eggs (Amberline/White Star) DO NOT have a lower carbon footprint.
Yes they eat a bit less and produce roughly the same amount of eggs as the Brown egg layers (Bovan/Lowman/ISA Brown) but they live shorter lives, are prone to dying suddenly when startled, a flighty and nervous and because they live shorter productive lives (12 -18mnths) vs brown 18/24mnths (both commercial farmed), you have to incubate more which is increased (Electricity/gas costs) and their eggs are not the same quality.
I breed and keep 20+ different breeds, including: ISA Brown hens and White Stars. All my hens are 100% free range, Not a single barn kept bird, I have ISA browns that are 5yrs old and still laying beautiful Brown eggs, I have not seen a White star live beyond 3yrs and certainly none have laid eggs past 18-24mnths.
White stars Lay themselves to death. They are slender birds and because they dont eat a lot, it drains their personal vitality to keep up laying the eggs you want to sell because of the nonsensical lie that they are "More Carbon Neutral"
You want to know about eggs, come talk to someone like me, Don't rely on some hairbrained imagination of a buyer who's trying to squeeze the profit margin for a few extra pennies at our expense and to the poor hens detriment.
I have never encountered a CEO working in public or third secotor who can draw up to £30,000 directly for their own expenses without any checks or authorisation. Maybe such a situation exists but threshold is usually much, much lower.
@theiaincameron Sure so recall my dad saying it snowed on Blackford Hill in Edinburgh (he worked at the Royal Observatory) and then shortly after it was suddenly a hot summer….
On this day 300 years ago: James Hutton was born in Edinburgh. He convinced people that the Earth’s crust was shaped not by one catastrophic flood, but by slow processes like erosion & volcanic activity over millions of years, earning him the title "The Father of Modern Geology".
@theiaincameron Utterly depressing. So many beautiful high places where, I imagine, one could walk and climb in pristine conditions with few others for company. Most mountains in Scotland, as you will know well, are like that.
@Rab_Dickson1 He would only have been 78 now. Bloody hell. Dead at 32 - what a terrible waste. A sound like no other. Was listening to Physical Graffiti while working in the garden with my youngest yesterday. Some drummer!
There are a number of deer in the Loire valley in France that have been consuming fermented fruits and are —frankly— pissed. Police have issued alerts to drivers telling them to beware.

I know Joanna is happy outside frontline politics in its current state (as am I). However, she is the exactly the calibre of person we need as a First Minister. We need people with real talent, intellectual acuity and real life experience in our parliament, not the current sub-mediocre nodding dogs who will vote for anything they’re told to.
