It has been a painful and frightening morning, added to the long chain of difficult days we have endured. This war has not stopped for even a single minute. Every day, we wake up to fear and go to sleep with anxiety, simply trying to survive amid the sounds of destruction and death.

Lebanese environmental activist Mona Khalil has succumbed to wounds sustained in an Israeli attack that targeted her center in Mansouri, Tyre district of southern Lebanon.

Khalil dedicated her life to protecting nature and preserving one of the Mediterranean’s most important sea turtle nesting sites, while transforming her house into a hub for scientific research and environmental volunteers.
