@Bearlovesbull So the so called "Experts" still think this is a normal bank? The valuation if way off this is a Tech company that is having a bank license
🚨 BIG NEWS: $SOFI BECOMES FIRST NATIONAL BANK TO GO LIVE WITH STABLECOIN SETTLEMENT ACROSS MASTERCARD’S GLOBAL PAYMENTS NETWORK
SoFi Bank is moving its entire $25 BILLION card program onto blockchain based settlement using SoFiUSD. Transactions are already live today.
Six months ago, SoFi and $MA were talking about what stablecoin settlement could look like. Now they actually have it running in production.
The merchant does not need to become a crypto company to use it.
They do not need to hold stablecoins or build blockchain infrastructure. They can receive settlement into a SoFi Bank account, convert it back into dollars and access the money around the clock. This is SoFi hiding all the complicated crypto stuff behind a banking product businesses already understand.
It's is a way bigger opportunity than people buying crypto inside the SoFi app.
Because if SoFiUSD becomes settlement infrastructure, SoFi can sit behind actual money movement.
Cards. Merchant settlement. Cross border payments. Remittances. B2B payments. Treasury. Eventually other financial institutions and payment platforms.
And now $SoFi says it is already in active discussions with large U.S. merchants, ranging from multinational retailers to technology platforms, about using stablecoin settlement.
Think about the progression here.
$SoFi started as a lender. Then it became a bank. Then it built Galileo and financial infrastructure for other companies.
Now it has its own dollar stablecoin issued by a nationally chartered bank, Mastercard supporting settlement, and a $25B internal card program showing businesses that the infrastructure actually works.
Guys, if this scales, then we are no longer valuing SoFi only on how many people refinance loans, open checking accounts or trade stocks.
We are potentially looking at a regulated bank becoming part of the infrastructure through which digital dollars move between consumers, merchants, fintechs and global payment networks.
Mastercard operates in 200+ countries and territories. SoFi does not have to build a global payments network from scratch. It is plugging SoFiUSD into one that already exists.
Everybody spent years asking which fintech would become the next big bank.
$SOFI might be trying to do something much bigger.
BECOME THE BANK BEHIND THE NEXT GENERATION OF MONEY MOVEMENT.
