@ParanormalJunk2 Sounds like a lot of semantics. But yes, it's a novel.
I've heard folks say that only rewriting is actual writing. Which feels odd, because the rewriting is only possible if you...write first.
Same feeling here. A "publishable" novel is only possible with work.
@JodieRobins Part of me believes that when an author publishes a craft book, that you should be a fan of their fiction (or at least readily consume it). To see them put their advice into action, you know?
So reading "Zen" is a good reason to dive into some Ray Bradbury.
@bizarroguy I'm angling to exclusively focus on novellas and short stories for the time being.
I've found it interesting that there are so many plots that are time-sensitive (literal ticking bombs) and there are so many side plots and dragging on for pages on end.
@bshgarcia Sometimes you don't read the first book because it's just not as interesting. But some key events still happen and it would be nice to know them before jumping into the second book.
