That’s normal. Google doesn’t update favicons immediately. If the favicon changed in your browser tab, your site is likely configured correctly. Google caches favicons and may take anywhere from a few days to several weeks to refresh them after it re-crawls your site. You can speed things up by requesting reindexing in Google Search Console and making sure your favicon.ico and <link rel="icon"> tags point to the new file. 👍🏻
