Four nationwide changes we need to improve the integrity, stability & credibility of our democratic process:
-Ranked Choice Voting
-Open primaries
-Abolish the electoral college, POTUS elections decided by popular vote
-Outlaw & eliminate partisan gerrymandering at every level
A 3-judge panel rejected the maps for Congressional districts drawn by Alabama's GOP-led legislature in violation of a SCOTUS ruling under the Voting Rights Act & has appointed a special master to draw a new map. https://t.co/I7JwIPosEB
He spent $700k of your tax $$ to make a perfectly fine walkway into some palace-like absurdity with African granite carved in Italy.
In addition to the huge waste of $$ that this is, our White House is not supposed to be a palace. There’s a reason it’s called The People’s House.
We warned everyone that free & fair elections would be at risk in a Trump 2.0 administration, and what do ya know…
Trump will do anything to prevent a referendum on his lame-duck presidency and stop Congress from using its power to block appointments and begin investigations.
My heart goes out to Pete and Chasten and it enrages me that this happened to them. Of course it could happen to anyone who uses their voice about anything today. We must all denounce this and stand with this family. This anonymous caller should be arrested. @PeteButtigieg
Vance says this insane comment without even a hint of irony… Given that his own boss committing a Watergate-level scandal, or worse, every week at this point, is the reason Nixon’s Watergate cover-up scandal is considered less serious now to people than in the pre-Trump era.
And people genuinely wonder why we’re so divided, as if our own president isn’t ground fucking zero for stirring shit up whenever, wherever, and however he can…
Trump: We were a laughing stock all over the world. We had a man that couldn't walk down those two steps. We had a man that couldn't sign a document. He had to use an auto pen. You saw the auto pen over there. He was an autoen. We call him the autoen president and think of it like 96% of the things he signed, he couldn't sign his name. What happened was a rigged election
You mean the sitting Senator who tried to fight someone testifying in the middle of his own Senate hearing is behaving like an unstable lunatic?
That guy? Shhhocking. 🤦♂️
"Mr secretary! The floor is hers. You know, there is a chairman. That's me" -- even the Republican committee chair is losing patience with Markwayne Mullin, who is gripping a stress ball as he clearly struggles to control his temper
The only Reflecting Pool vandal is Donald John Trump… America’s worst president.
As a universal principle, the best way for Trump to help is to not ever get involved at all.
The top 1% now hold as much wealth as the entire bottom 90% of Americans combined — about 32% each.
This is what runaway inequality looks like, according to the Fed's most recent data released this month.
@StateDept Sure, sure.🤦♂️
In this kind of situation, there’s what “is allowed” on paper, and then there’s what is actually done in practice.
Don’t gaslight us by pretending to conflate the two. We know you know this is a shit sandwich of epic proportions.
If we ever make it out of this shit…
Congress & the next POTUS (hopefully a moral person, if that’s even possible), must overhaul all the rules for all acting Cabinet positions. Starting with reducing how long one can stay in a position, and real penalties if that time expires.
Ted either really believes this, which makes him an idiot, or he knows it’s pandering bullshit, but he doesn’t care because lying to win elections matter more to him than breathing, and he can’t imagine his life out of office (although the rest of gladly can).
Don’t be like Ted.
