My parents gave me ₦750,000 to keep in my account for them. They said I should hold it and release it anytime they needed it for a family project.
I accepted, and they transferred the money to me.
A few months later, I needed money to buy something important but had nothing left in my account except the money my parents had sent.
Since I had investments that could cover the amount if they asked for their money back, I decided to use part of their money temporarily to make the purchase.
However, just one week after I used the money, my parents called a family meeting. At the meeting, they announced a new project and said they wanted to use the ₦750,000 for it.
I started praying desperately that the project wouldn’t go through, because I didn’t want to sell my investments early.
Two days later, my father called and asked me to prepare the money so they could start the project. I had no choice but to sell my investments and raise the funds.
In the end, I even had to add extra money of my own because their ₦750,000 wasn’t enough to cover the full cost of the project.
While this may sound strange or even funny to some people, I consider such men to be among the most w!cked individuals in society.
One day, we will create time to discuss how these men have played a major role in destroying our women — only to later turn around and complain, crying that women are not good people.
We are quick to blame women for all the wrong things they do, but what do we have to say about the men who actively contribute to making their lives miserable?
Dear men
If your main concern in life is what people will say about you, believe me — you won’t live long on this planet.
This life doesn’t favor people like that, mate.
It was great joining Njideka Akunyili Crosby — a gifted Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based artist — to unveil our first portrait together. This piece reflects so many chapters of Michelle and my story, and we’re thrilled that it will be on display in the Hope and Change lobby at the Obama Presidential Center starting this Juneteenth.
A close colleague at the office told me that a particular woman was always gossiping about me.
The woman said that ever since she had known me, I only owned two wigs and kept asking what I was using my salary for.
To be fair, she wasn't lying. 😂
I got hold of her file and discovered she got her appointment 33 years ago.
Yesterday, while we were in the staff room, I casually said:
"Some people are still jumping from one bike to another after over 30 years of service. What are they using their salary for?"
After closing hours, I said, "Ma'am, I'm leaving o."
She usually joins me in my car.
This time, she replied:
"I'll take a bike."🧐
This morning, our church hosted a wedding. The groom is 42, the bride is 36; they'd been dating for three years. He'd traveled abroad, did well for a while, then came back to Nigeria with nothing left. Through all of it, she stayed.
Our pastor told them to stop waiting and settle down. So they had a mini wedding during today's service.
Then he announced that everything realised in church today would go to the couple.
Before he even finished talking, people were already coming forward with more.
By the end, the couple walked away with ₦2.3 million, two years' rent paid, and six new outfits each.🥰❤️
