What we observe about human suffering doesn't have anything to do with a thing being objectively moral or not. It's just what we like or think is good. That's why every culture throughout all history has had different morality.

Morals are thoughts and ideas. If there is no objective basis to compare them to, there is no objectivity to them. They simply are what we want them to be

Every attempt to make liquid fuel from something results in more energy expenditure than you get out of it. Oil requires only transportation energy and some refinery. It's already been made by the earth.

Despite what you hear, there is no substitute that actually works. I want renewable energy as much as you do, in fact, I've always loved the field, but it's not here yet.
