On May 8, 2026, our Access to Justice team, in collaboration with Society for Family Health, conducted a medical outreach at the Suleja Custodial Centre, providing healthcare and legal support to persons in custody.

The outreach included medical consultations, health screenings, medications, legal assistance, and health education on hygiene and disease prevention. Essential medications and sanitation supplies were also donated to support continued healthcare delivery within the facility.

We appreciate the Nigerian Correctional Service, medical professionals, and all partners for their support in making this intervention possible.

Every person deserves dignity, access to care, and knowledge of their rights regardless of where they are.

On May 7th, The PPDC will be carrying out a Health and Legal Awareness Outreach at the Lafia Medium Custodial Centre under the Reforming Pretrial Detention in Nigeria (RPDN11) Project.

This outreach will provide:
• Free health education and sensitisation
• Free legal education and awareness
• Distribution of health and hygiene consumables
• Distribution of clothing and other support materials

We believe that justice must also look like compassion, restoration, and humanity.

We are open to donations, partnerships, and support as we work together to improve the health and dignity of detainees.
