This is the first year our home has felt a little emptier, with our son Connor heading off to college. Having us all together under the same roof again - there’s nothing I’m grateful for more. (Our dog may have missed him most!)

The last 24 hours have left so many people broken, first in Lewiston, Maine, and again today on the 190 in Buffalo.

My heart goes out to the families who will not welcome home loved ones tonight because of the gun violence that continues to devastate our country.
