Servers are legally allowed to be paid $2.13/hr because we allow and perpetuate the practice. As long as we view tipping as mandatory the practice will continue. Why would the restaurant owners change something that is to their benefit? I tip well for good service because I want to. I tip nothing to very little for poor service.
