The Red Sox won in 18 but have not been back since and traded away Mookie Betts because he was going to cost too much. I’d love to see MIL/SEA/TB etc win but a cap doesn’t mean it will happen.

@corpdevinvestin @KodyDuncanPGH I’m tracking perfectly fine. The Royals who are also in KC have won and lost a WS in the time frame we are using. The Brewers are close to GB and have been to the NLCS 3 times and couldn’t get the job done. The Pirates have had multiple playoff appearances but not won a series.

@corpdevinvestin @KodyDuncanPGH And for added comparison, in the same 25 year stretch 12 of 32 NFL teams have won a superbowl. That’s less than half. Seems like a salary cap isn’t a major factor in giving teams a chance to win it all.

@corpdevinvestin @KodyDuncanPGH I haven’t lied. 16 of 30 teams have won the WS since 2000. 28 of 30 have at least made it to an LCS. Even in that list of 14, Cleveland, Colorado, Detroit, Tampa have all made it to the WS and lost.

@corpdevinvestin @KodyDuncanPGH This isn’t a joke. MLB has seen more than 1/2 the teams win the WS since the turn of the century. There were no repeat champs until last season. All but 2 teams have made it to the final 4. All of this has occurred without a salary cap.

@corpdevinvestin @KodyDuncanPGH Ok now that I have your standard of population size, the 5 smallest pops in baseball are MIL, KC, STL, CIN & PIT. That accounts for 3 WS rings, 5 WS appearances, and 13 LCS appearances in the past 20 years.
