We celebrate you, Sabastian Sawe, for a performance of rare brilliance at the London Marathon. You have not only claimed a historic victory; you have redrawn the limits of human endurance, smashing the world record and breaking the two-hour barrier with extraordinary resolve.
This is more than a win; it is a defining moment. Your triumph places you firmly among the greats of global athletics and reaffirms Kenya as an enduring force at the pinnacle of distance running.
We also commend Hellen Obiri and Joyciline Jepkosgei for their remarkable second and third-place finishes in the women’s race. Your discipline and competitive fire continue to define the standard of Kenyan excellence on the world stage.
You have lifted our flag high, inspired a nation, and reminded the world of the power of determination. We are proud.
This is Tana River Delta
Near Kipini in Tana River County, a fascinating natural process unfolds where the freshwater of the Tana River meets the salty waters of the Indian Ocean.
At this point, the two don’t immediately mix. Freshwater is lighter and less dense, so it flows gently above the heavier seawater. This creates a distinct, shimmering boundary where the river appears to glide over the ocean.
Over time, tides, waves and currents slowly blend the two, but the meeting point remains a dynamic and ever changing zone. The result is a beautiful, layered effect, one of nature’s most subtle yet captivating interactions.

My friend Humphrey Wattanga came to KRA as its Commissioner General with the highest credentials of any occupant of that office since. But he came in tiptoeing quietly, served his term quietly & has left quietly. KRA is yet to be transformed as a catalyst for economic change. Instead, it remains a Government ATM! Public leadership at its top echelons like KRA CG demands an individual that comes in & leaves real change that is visible, verifiable & impactful. Sadly, my friend has left KRA where it was. I had so much faith in Humphrey. As he leaves like a thief in the night, am sad that maybe we expect too much from those with impeccable academic credentials. Maybe whom we need is a village bulldozer not an ALLIANCE BOY!
My hearty congratulations to Senior Counsel Charles Kanjama on winning the Presidency of the Law Society of Kenya.
Kudos, too, to all the winners, and indeed, all the contestants for various positions. Your participation in the elections went a long way in strengthening the Society, which is our integral partner in advancing the rule of law, accountability, and public order.
Wishing the very best also to the outgoing Council members, led by Ms. Faith Odhiambo, who have done a commendable job.
We will continue our close collaboration with the Society to build a more robust criminal justice system, which is critical for our democratic advancement and national stability.
I convey hearty congratulations to @ckanjama SC on his resounding win in todays Election to become the 52nd President of the @LawSocietyofKe. His record of dutiful service to the society and contributions to development of governance in Kenya make him a worthy torchbearer of the LSK's vision and mandate.
I wish you all the best in your tenure, SC. You inherit the leadership of a united, stable and forward-looking society which can achieve great success if steered diligently and tactfully. The people of Kenya will look up to your leadership as we get into a high-stakes electioneering period, and I am hopeful that you will offer the required leadership and remain committed to the rule of law and constitution.
Serve with distinction.
The Bar has spoken, and the message is clear: A new chapter begins for the Law Society of Kenya - grounded in discipline, legitimacy and the will of the membership.
The will of the membership is supreme.
I am humbled to lead this great Society and look forward to working with the incoming Council to protect our members and defend the Rule of Law.
I've spoken with my daughter Winnie about her recent comments on the party matters. I reiterated to her the importance of staying united and respecting the party's decisions — that's exactly what Baba would have loved to see from all of us.
