Life-or-death situations happen in seconds, while police can be minutes away and that’s one reason. Another is that our 2nd Amendment reinforces the 1st: an armed populace is the ultimate safeguard of free speech. The day the government can credibly promise it will never become tyrannical is the day we can talk about giving up our right to bear arms. But history and human behavior will point out, no government can ever make that promise. 🇺🇸
@tuuu28283 Old Disney was OK, but New Disney seems far removed from its intended audience. I feel like political activists became the scriptwriters and recent movies feel like HR lectures.
Straight out of 1984: New York Democrats just passed Newspeak legislation replacing “mother” and “father”, words that have defined humanity for thousands of years, with “gestating parent” and “non-gestating parent.”
This isn’t inclusion. It’s erasing biological reality through government-mandated language control.
Peak Orwellian Newspeak insanity.
@tanpukunokami Muslims come to our countries and demand endless accommodation, yet significant portions of Muslims refuse to budge one inch on reciprocating in sharing values in the host culture and customs.
Indeed you are correct 💯. We’re dealing with a supremacist and totalitarian political system that has its own religion being led by cavemen. And yes, even at a meager 1-2% of the US population they must be taken seriously, though I can’t help but mock and ridicule them sometimes. 😉
@tuuu28283 Americans typically wouldn’t say that to each other. However, if someone from Japan said it to an American, they would find it perfectly okay and actually charming.
@NYCMayor Gracie Mansion is for all New Yorkers. Do you host Christmas or Hanukkah celebrations here with the same fanfare, or is Eid the only one getting the mayoral treatment?
@tanpukunokami It’s not a ‘religion of peace’ but rather a religion of submission. Islam is a supremacists and totalitarian political system that has a religion.
@VigilantFox Turns out the real reason for these taxes isn’t ‘fair share’. It’s vengeance for ‘colonialism,’ per her last response. These people are vindictive and want REVENGE!
Your post is pure historical revisionism wrapped in lies. You cherry-pick four examples and claim they “refute” 1400 years of Islamic conquest + dhimmi rules + one-way demands. Wrong on every count. Let’s correct the record:
1. Convivencia in Muslim Spain: After the 711 Islamic invasion conquered Christian Visigothic Spain, Christians & Jews became dhimmis. They paid jizya, wore special clothing, couldn’t build/repair churches freely, and apostasy from Islam = death. “Coexistence” was hierarchical tolerance under enforced sharia, not equality or “no Muslim law.”
2. Ottoman Millet System: Built on the conquest of Christian Byzantine & Balkan lands. Non-Muslims had limited personal autonomy but paid jizya, faced unequal courts, and endured the devshirme (Christian boys taken, converted, enslaved as Janissaries). Again: Muslim law was the supreme framework, not absent.
3. Expulsion of Jews from Spain (1492): This was ordered by Catholic Monarchs Ferdinand & Isabella after the Reconquista ended 781 years of Muslim rule in Granada. It was a Christian policy. Zero relevance to “Islamic tolerance.” This is textbook whataboutism, irrelevant and dishonest.
4. Saladin: He recaptured Jerusalem in 1187 : a city Muslims had conquered from the Christian Byzantines in 638. His policies were pragmatic wartime mercy within the dhimmi system (protection for submission + jizya). Still enforced Muslim supremacy, didn’t reject it.
Bottom line: Every single one of your examples happened on land that was Christian before Islamic armies invaded and imposed sharia governance. The “tolerance” you praise was conquerors allowing conquered populations to survive as legal inferiors, not mutual respect or proof against the documented 1400-year pattern of expansion by the sword followed by institutionalized second-class status.
You don’t refute history by ignoring the invasions and pretending dhimmi rules were “multiculturalism.” Facts > feelings. The pattern stands.
