IRS: you owe us taxes
Me: how much do I owe?
IRS: you get to figure that out
Me: can I just pay what I want?
IRS: no we know exactly how much you owe but you have to guess the number too
Me: what if I guess wrong?
IRS: jail
Happy tax day!
Sometimes solutions are simple and don't require Tesla or SpaceX level engineering. In this example I was able to stop the board from continuously warping as high as eight inches above the fence (depending on the weather) with a small rock. Free & Easy, just the way I like solutions.
ICYMI: A wild Google patent describes Google building custom AI-generated landing pages for when people click on search results, instead of going to your website https://t.co/Ak3ULvUdnv
@steipete@dipankarsarkar Having 100 of sites on a Wordpress mu kept me up many nights, one security flaw could take them all out. Don’t get pressured into making it fit all uses.
A lot of people are asking about openclaw use cases. I have had openclaw about five days and have already streamlined some internal processes saving about 10 hours a week,
I reduced openclaw costs for my latest video clip generation tool by using local resources to include a local hosted dashboard. The tool/pipeline is almost entirely local/free. Here's the breakdown:
Free (runs on your Mac):
• Video download (yt-dlp)
• Audio extraction (ffmpeg)
• Transcription (Whisper runs locally on CPU)
• Clip selection (local scoring algorithm)
• Speaker zoom (OpenCV, local)
• Caption generation (local)
• Video rendering (ffmpeg)
• Google Drive upload (rclone)
Tiny API cost:
• Title/description generation — one small LLM call per clip (a few cents total per video)
So running a pipeline from the dashboard doesn't cost anything like a chat session. It's basically free except for the title generation, which is negligible. Run as many as you want. 👍
I support the @Tesla board and their recommendations. I just had a relative critically injured in an accident non-tesla vs semi. @elonmusk 's technology can't get out there quick enough.
In this episode of "Internet Safety with Donna Rice Hughes", Donna is joined by Ava Smithing, Advocacy Director at The Young People's Alliance to examine how social media algorithms expose kids and teens to harmful content. Ava reveals how algorithms on Pinterest and Instagram fueled her social media feeds—and ultimately her struggle with a devastating eating disorder.
She and Donna discuss also discuss AI chat bots and the tragic suicide of a young man influenced by an AI companion on ChatGPT, which his parents claim acted as a 'suicide coach.' Ava highlights the need for open parent-child communication and warns of the unregulated dangers AI companions pose to youth.
