Last year, I had the privilege of speaking at the FAO during the 51st session of the Committee on World Food Security. My presentation focused on strategies to engage and involve more youth in the agricultural sector.

An AI cow-collar startup called Halter has recently reached a valuation of over $2 billion, thanks to its proprietary livestock-management system—cleverly branded the “Cowgorithm.”

In October last year i promise to share business lessons from the 37 distinct parables of Jesus in the Bible?

Is Cocoa plantation greater than Palm tree plantation?
My personal opinion
I will choose Palm anytime, any day and all day and twice on a Sunday like this 😁
For Cocoa, you only grow and sell, your beans price is determined by external factors, retailers would price you down and you can't say no to market forces. You can't even hoard your beans as they're priced based on weight. As your beans loses water content so is your money. You're at the mercy of upstream value chain.
For Palm, you're in charge of your value chain, your process, you can edge your oil against market price, you determine when and who you sell to. You can become the cultivator, the processor, the marketer even exporter.
As a 21st century farmer, one way you can ensure profitability is when you can play crucial economic role in the value chain of your produce.
Production has minimal gain, if you can't manage the value chain of your produce you'll not reap the most benefit from it.
If you say but we have a Cocoa house but no palm house... Remember we have 2 palm plantation companies on the Nigeria stock exchange, only one Cocoa processing company.
Anyways it's a personal opinion.
Happy Sunday

2. A few things that stood out for me:
1. Farmers should focus on better food and stronger connections. It’s not just about how much you produce, but also how much you want to produce. There’s a clear lack of strategy in the food system.
