BREAKING: PEDO PARTY! Corrupt MAGA Republican changes law to protect his own 18-year-old relative accused of raping a 13-year-old!

In a stunning display of Republican hypocrisy, tolerance for sexual perversion and elite corruption, Utah Senate President J. Stuart Adams quietly helped change state law to rescue his own teenage relative from decades in prison after the 18-year-old was accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old junior high student.

The teen, who is related to the powerful Republican leader, originally faced multiple first-degree felony charges of child rape and child sodomy, which could have meant 25 years to life and lifetime sex offender registration.

But after Adams got involved, the Utah Legislature passed a convenient tweak that created a new lower charge specifically for 18-year-old high school students having sex with 13-year-olds.

Two months later, prosecutors offered the connected teenager a sweetheart plea deal: guilty to reduced charges, just one week in jail (already served), no sex offender registration, and basically a slap on the wrist.

The victim’s mother was blindsided.

“I felt like I was punched in the gut,” she told the Salt Lake Tribune, adding that she believes her child was merely “an afterthought” while powerful people protected their own. She believes the system gave special treatment to the perpetrator because of who he’s related to.

Republicans love to scream about “protecting children,” “law and order,” and pledge to be “tough on crime.” Yet when it’s one of their own powerful insiders facing consequences for the sexual abuse of a child, they rewrite the rules to make it go away.

The party of Epstein.

Adams claims he didn’t directly request the change, but everyone involved in the courtroom openly admitted the legislative tweak was the key to resolving the charges with a lenient deal. Wink, wink.
The young man’s defense attorney Cara Tangaro even drafted the language of the amendment, and even told the judge the new law “changed everything.”

Now, the 13-year-old victim and her family are left devastated, watching justice for the girl be denied so an connected 18-year-old could avoid real consequences.

Republicans can blather all day about family values, but this story reveals the truth that for them, justice is only for the little people, and that sexual misconduct can be swept under the rug.

No one should be above the law, especially not MAGA politicians and their families.

BREAKING: SOUNDS OF SILENCE — Senate hearing goes deadly quiet as Trump’s federal judicial nominees REFUSE to admit third term is illegal.

Donald Trump is nominating people to lifetime federal judgeships who won't confirm that he can't run for a third term when they come before the Senate for their approval hearings.

Let that sink in.

Senator Chris Coons of Delaware asked what should be the easiest constitutional law question in American history at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing this week. He asked Trump's judicial nominees about the 22nd Amendment.

The first nominee, John Marck, said that his career had been in criminal prosecution and that he hadn't had occasion to use that particular amendment.

A federal judicial nominee. Unfamiliar with the 22nd Amendment. Seeking a lifetime appointment to interpret the Constitution.

Another candidate eventually offered that it "deals with the two-term limitation." Correct. Gold star.

Coons then asked the simple follow-up: is President Trump eligible to run for president again in 2028?

Marck's response was a masterpiece of evasion: "Without considering all the facts and looking at everything, depending on what the situation is, this to me strikes as more of a hypothetical."

Coons was patient. He walked Marck through it like a kindergarten teacher explaining why you can't eat paste. Has Trump been elected president twice? "President Trump has been certified the President of the United States two times." Is he eligible to run for a third term? "I would have to review the actual wording of it."

A man seeking a lifetime federal judgeship needs to review the actual wording. Of the 22nd Amendment. Which is 61 words long.

Coons then turned to the full panel and asked if anyone — anyone — was willing to simply state that the Constitution of the United States bars Trump from seeking a third term.

A heartbreakingly long silence ensued.

He asked again. Anyone willing to apply the Constitution by its plain language?

More ominous silence.

Nobody. Not one of Trump's judicial nominees would say out loud, under oath, in a Senate hearing, that the 22nd Amendment means what it plainly says.

This isn't ignorance. These are lawyers. They know what the 22nd Amendment says. They know Trump has been talking openly about a third term. And they calculated — correctly, based on what happens to people who cross this president — that telling the constitutional truth was more dangerous than staying silent.

The frightening thing is that these are the people who will be interpreting your rights for the next 30 years.

BREAKING: Governor Gavin Newsom replaces Donald Trump on the world stage by announcing that he will attend the United Nations climate summit in Brazil that the MAGA leader refused to send a delegation to.

Big Oil owns Trump but they don't own his ascendant arch-nemesis...

COP30, the conference in question, will be held on Friday and Newsom will be the highest-profile American government official in attendance. The appearance, which will supercharge interest in his 2028 presidential run, comes in the wake of his historic redistricting victory on Tuesday.

The governor told Politico that he's making the trip “because of the complete abdication of the Trump administration that is joining the Saudis and Russia and the Gulf states.”

“It’s doubled down on hydrocarbons as the rest of the world is sprinting ahead on low-carbon green growth,” he said. “For me, it is about our economic competitiveness, period, full stop.”

Newsom's angle here is a smart one. Climate change is an existential crisis for the survival of our species, but it's also an enormous economic opportunity for those countries that are willing to adopt clean energy quickly and efficiently. Either the United States rises to meet demand or China will.

Trump has repeatedly dismissed climate change as a "hoax" and a "con job" despite the overwhelming evidence and proliferation of extreme weather events. Fossil fuel companies helped foist him into power and he's paying them back tenfold at the cost of our planet.

“I just want to make sure everyone understands we’re maybe 2,000 miles from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., but we’re a world away in terms of our mindset on these issues,” Newsom added.

Tens of thousands of diplomats, scientists, experts, and activists are attending the conference which will unfold over two weeks in Belém, a city close to the mouth of the Amazon River. Newsom will have a strong legacy to tout during his trip since California has been leading America in renewable energy on numerous fronts.

The rest of the world is eager to speak with the United States and so Newsom will have an opportunity to boost his international standing even further—

“The U.S. will not play a major role. The world is collectively outraged, and so we will focus — as will everyone else — on engaging in talks with those who are driving the process forward," said Jochen Flasbarth, undersecretary in the German Ministry of Environmental Affairs."

Thanks to Gavin Newsom, the world doesn't have to count America out just yet. We need not surrender our global leadership. It's time to recommit to our responsibilities.
