Farhan Zaidi's time in SF might have been plagued with mediocrity but he did a great job fostering rescue pitchers and helping them find their forever homes ❤️
Sean Manaea has been so good for the Mets this year. A workhorse who threw 181.2 innings. A leader on the pitching staff and in the clubhouse. And, after middling performances in past postseasons, the guy who has thrown six shutout innings in Game 3 against rival Philadelphia.
Mauricio Dubón's Astros
John Brebbia's Braves
(Huge Gap)
The Dodgers who somehow don't have any former Giants on the 40-man but still made the playoffs 🤔
Both Zack Wheeler and Logan Webb are tied with Steele's ERA and both have thrown more innings. Webb has thrown about 170 more innings than Steele. Also, Verlander has a 2.68 ERA in 399 1/3 IP if you're wondering why the cutoff was 400 exactly.
@synocope_ Yeah, that's another thing where I think an exception would need to be made. Like when the Giants were down to Webb and Hicks they couldnt adhere to this and protect their player's arms
I think I like the spirit of this but the requirements (6 IP or 100 pitches or 4 ER) feel too high. Something like 5 IP or 85 pitches or 4 R seems more reasonable if the aim is to eliminate bullpen games.
The league is kicking around this idea. It sounds radical but is it? “You would start to think about a repertoire that would get you through the lineup three times” Story here: Could six-inning minimum starting pitcher rule come to MLB? - via @ESPN App https://t.co/29cSljSMut
The Giants are absolute dog shit and it's an indictment of the NL and the competitive health of MLB as a whole that they have remained in the playoff picture for this long.
@badtom1986 If they think Luciano isn't the best option at present that's fine, but they should option him back down so he can get some reps. Encarnacion looks good but Wisely and Schmitt aren't hitting much
