WhatsApp product team and Nigerian politicians have two things in common.
1. They can get away with anything
2. They don’t care about what you want or like.
Fortunately, this doesn't apply to me. When I get into a relationship, I always give my all so that no matter how it ends, I walk away with no regrets & 'if only'.
Like Joshua Baraka said, "Running away isn't moving on."
Take time, face those triggers & heal. It's a process.
As someone with anxiety, i cannot do inconsistency. don’t introduce me to energy and a vibe you don’t plan on maintaining. one minute you’re sweet and the next minute you’re mean and cold. one minute you’re present, the next you’re distant. absolutely not.
i wish we qualified for this worldcup man, as fun as it is supporting spain and argentina it doesn't come close to me supporting my fellow country men.
Nobody tells you how hard it is to rewire your brain so you can allow amazing things to happen to you after so much trauma or hurt. Blessings exist, good people exist, a softer life exists. Let it happen.
She is 28 years old
Her real name is Eniola Stella-Maris Olanrewaju
She studied Computer Science at the University of Ibadan, but ditched coding for creative pursuits.
As a reserved, sheltered kid, she spent a lot of time locked indoors imagining stories instead of playing outside
She was scouted for modeling while in Lagos for an IT internship and walked Lagos Fashion Week 2017 for top brands like Lisa Folawiyo.
Initially thought models were "shallow" and hesitated before trying modeling.
Worked as a writer/content creator at Zikoko, where she convinced bosses to let her create the show HER by Zikoko.
Became Head of Content at Mr Eazi's emPawa Africa before going full-time on YouTube in 2020.
Her breakout YouTube video documented quitting her job and moving out of her parents' house at 22.
Spent three days camping at Eko Hotel trying to interview Wizkid. The vlog went viral.
Created the hit dating show Love or Lies and the celebrity docuseries Flow with Korty.
Directed a documentary for Victoria's Secret in 2023, marking her international filmmaking debut.
Inspired a song by Afro-fusion artist Buju on his debut EP Sorry I'm Late.
Her mom worried about her extreme quietness as a child. She was basically her own best friend.
Korty once felt insecure about being too skinny and tall when she started modeling.
Claims her "superpower" is impeccable taste inherited from her parents.
Founded 'Any Production'.... her own film & TV network, while joking her "latest hobby is making money"
Korty is widely recognised as a breakout Nigerian creator documenting contemporary culture and Afrobeats stars like Rema, Tems, Ayra Starr, Tiwa Savage, Asake, Olamide, and other Afrobeats stars
She describes herself as sometimes a "little girl" sometimes an "old woman" and refuses the "influencer" label. she's a filmmaker at heartttt

One thing I have observed from Korty's media journey is that, she knew all the unfair advantage she has, and worked hard at maximising them.
Korty has an attractive look. In fact, I remember when people really compared her to Rema and said she had to be related to Rema (lol...she isn't BTW 😅)
She went for modelling as far back as 2017.
That already opened her to the media world.
And she probably said to herself "I'm beautiful and I love making vlogs. Why can't I just mix the both worlds together and make cool videos in the most stylish outfits and manners?"
Today, that single decision paid off massively and she worked soo hard to make sure she stayed on top of the trends and not become lost in the aggressive media world.

.
Today, I want you to learn something from Korty
If you know you have any unfair advantage, then please use it.
If you have a deep baritone voice, then use it for your contents.
It can be that you are so tall (like Layi Wasabi). And if you do contents as an exceptionally tall person, you will easily get people talking.
If you know you have a good facial structure and great hairline (lol), then you can start creating contents.
And if you are like me that loves to analyse and write... Then start putting more of it out there like I am currently doing.
.
.
Don't let anyone bully you into boxing yourself
Look for a way to combine your interests, and then use your unfair advantages greatly.
What is that one thing that you have, and you know that at least it's 1 in 30 people that have that same access like you do? That's your unfair advantage.
Like Korty used hers so professionally and creatively.
You can also find yours and aggressively use it to hasten your process and speed things up for you

One of the strangest things about being a young professional in Nigeria is having a job, dressing well, leaving home every morning and still calculating whether you can afford chicken.
This is how we check World Cup fixtures when there was no access to internet, gone are those days at Ojota, like it’s was so interesting, they will sell to us then unfolded in other to make it easy to access, we will fold it and begin to write score after each match.
