In the left picture, Deborah has had a make up department prep her look for the headshot picture.
In the right picture, you see what a woman who grew up in ancient Scandinavia would look like at 41 because she doesn't have access to cosmetics.
Here's a picture of Deborah from *last year* from her instagram just hanging around her house and looking, well, completely age appropriate and without all the Hollywood makeup.
Faye looks fine in the new God of War game.
@visegrad24 The members of the police will die anyway too, from old age, so...Nobody should ever help save a Police officer who is injured. They just set those rules. The media backed it up.
The expansion pack is done for one single reason. Pre-emptive damage-control to try and justify a female witcher in The Witcher 4. Retro-actively adding (fake) lore and retconning excisting lore, to have it be ready for 4. Apes will blindly consume. Apes will cheer.
Possibly semi incoherent rant incoming:
The problem with modern graphics is that they are getting too good for their own good. There is no room for imagination anymore.
Every hair strand needs to be simulated. Faces need to be realistic, so let's add more detail, more wrinkles, pores and everything because if everything looked perfect then it would look fake. But with imperfections it also looks bad, so it's a cursed cycle.
Nobody complained about women being ugly when we had 5 polygons and one janky texture for the whole model.
Because we relied on our imagination to polish that look in our minds, even though objectively it looked bad without the nostalgia goggles.
And the main reasons they're pushing this are
1) to please investors who don't even look at the game further than the main trailer and a pitch deck but are like "yeah this looks next gen and safe, ship it" and
2) to justify buying new hardware to support all that new rendering tech which is also pushed by big gpu merchants
Soyboy agenda is another big topic altogether but it's all related.
So the answer, if they actually cared about gaming, which they don't, would be to go with unique stylized timeless graphics and make gameplay better by not having semi disabled testers.
But they can only make standard things because that's what they learn in their useless game dev degrees that are required to work in the big companies.
So indie games and smaller teams with actual passion are the ultimate answer if you want to have fun. Go support them.
@Vinnieart 27 seconds in. Midern day lightsaber in games syndrome. A cutting weapon slashing an enemy, and it sends him flying instead of cutting through him. You see this stuff in tons of games now. Cutting weapons functioning as damage-baseball-bats.
