Sources: @TexasBaseball is making two very strong hires and additions to its staff. The #Horns are hiring Oregon star assistant Jack Marder as the recruiting coordinator, while former Texas/Texas A&M assistant Caleb Longley will assist with hitters/recruiting.

Texas freshman Sam Cozart on his role going forward as a team leader: "The University of Texas is built on culture, it's a winning tradition. My job is to make sure that there's no timid or weak players in our program and if there is, either make them stronger or get them out."
After Adrian Rodriguez hit for just the third cycle in MCWS history, Texas assistant Troy Tulowitzki gave his parents the lineup card. 🥹

Only his second outing of the year, Kaleb Rogers (@TexasBaseball) has been working his way back to pitching shape all season to get ready for the playoffs…could be a big live for the Horns bullpen

Schlossnagle on Rogers:
“Kaleb has been pitching great all spring in the simulation games and has really taken a tick up in the last couple weeks, and then Grubbs going down, that created some space.”
Says he’s been told the 5 for 5 rule should be instilled to the sport, generally rendering a redshirt year unnecessary either way.
“If you have somebody on your team that can help your team, whether it's for an at bat, a pinch run, or get an out, then we're not gonna wait around, and certainly we ran that by Kaleb first, and he was all in, so excited to get him out there.”
@EmmanuelAcho Texans been terrible for a long time after years of top 10 picks they are supposed to be good for a few years then some guys get hurt and old then they suck again for 10 years. Come on Acho.
@TheHerd@colincowherd Funny thing is that the only way to get a franchise QB you have to go 2-15 or 3-14 for several years with no guarantees you will be 15-2. Teams that are good right now they were terrible for 10 years straight until they got a good QB. Problem Steelers try to be good each year.
